Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Twenty-one contestants arrived at the castle on Day 1. How many Traitors did Claudia select?

Answer: Two

This series started before anyone actually step foot in the famous castle as twenty-one players met in a chapel, ready for a funeral. Claudia arrived, borne in a coffin, and produced the first twist then and there, asking the group to pick who they thought was the most trustworthy amongst them. They chose Julie Hesmondhalgh, who was allowed to give out two Shields (she kept one for herself and gav the other to Joe Lycett).

This in mind, at the Round Table that afternoon, Claudia chose Maya Jama and Richard E. Grant to play as Traitors, noting that there would be no Murder that evening. There would, however, be a choice; the Traitors would need to choose one more person to join their ranks.
2. On the game's second night, the selected Traitors had to choose one more to join their ranks from a choice of two. Who did they select?

Answer: James A.

Tasked with choosing a third Traitor to join their small group in the turret, Maya and Richard were asked to create a shortlist of two, who would be invited to a face-to-face meeting in the chapel. There, their selections would be given the chance to plead for their lives in the game as one of them would be spared and given a cloak while the other would be the game's first Murder.

Maya and Richard chose James Acaster to join them, believing that he could pull the focus away with his careful and laser-focused mind. This would round out the team, at least for the time being.
3. On the first day of the competition, Richard E. Grant claimed which of the following, leading to his early Banishment?

Answer: That he was a Traitor.

Almost immediately, in the bar after the Round Table at which the Traitors were selected, Richard was asked, point-blank by Joe Lycett, if he was a Traitor and he almost absentmindedly said that he was one. Although pushed to backpedal, it appeared that it was way too late to recover. The vast majority of the group opted to vote for the obvious choice and, in a surprise first, eliminated a Traitor at their very first opportunity.

Maya and James would Seduce another player that very night.
4. Through the series, how many players were successfully Seduced into becoming Traitors?

Answer: Two

As soon as Richard was removed from the game at the first Round Table vote, Maya and James were left with the option of following through with a Murder or, as is custom, Seduce a Faithful with the aim of hoping to make them a Traitor. With as many players as had Shields coming out of the first Mission, the pair shrewdly brought Hannah Fry into the fold, leaving her with little room to move in the game.

Hannah would be eliminated a few days later and the Traitors would subsequently Seduce King Kenny that night. He would be the final Traitor added to the roster this series.
5. A dangerous game of hide and seek awaited some players instead of a traditional Murder. Which of these four was protected from the event by being locked into a crypt?

Answer: Leigh-Anne

After Julie's Banishment as a Faithful, the Traitors were told that they would not be committing Murder from the turret that evening. Instead, they would select four players (Traitors could be included) to go on a deadly game of hide and seek in the woods.

There, they would hide in one of four crypts, and the Traitors would find the one they wanted out of the game. The catch was that the four hiding players could use one key to protect one of themselves, as though it were a Shield. The Faithfuls that were selected gave the key to Leigh-Anne, though she was safe as the Traitors went for Rob, killing him face-to-face.
6. This year's Murder in Plain Sight involved which action?

Answer: Boring someone to death

Interestingly on day one in the castle, James Acaster located the dangerous perfume bottle in the library and clocked it as a likely murder weapon half-a-game before it was used. On that fateful night, the Traitors were informed that their 'Murder in Plain Sight' would involve spraying the peacock bottle in the room of their choice to activate a deadly sleeping agent. If they could get a Faithful to yawn, they could say the words "Am I boring you?" followed by their name to execute the plan, boring them to death.

Ross was the one who fell into the trap; he didn't return for breakfast the next morning.
7. For the Mission completed in the Traitor's Lair, the Traitors were tasked with collecting money by sabotaging the group's Shields. Did they earn any money?

Answer: No

During a unique Mission in which only the Traitors could earn money for the group pot, all the players were brought to the 'Traitor's Lair' where they had to build Shields to protect themselves that evening, getting a handful of chances to put their standing puzzles together and create their protection. Between these rounds, the players would be blindfolded, but the Traitors could remove their blindfolds, creep around the room, disassemble players' Shield puzzles, and put the pieces together to win cash.

The Traitors did not succeed with any of this. While Kenny and Maya worked to try to sabotage, and win money, James A. refused to remove his blindfold. As a result, no money was added and four players (James included) won Shields.
8. Which player received the Dagger this season, doubling one of their votes?

Answer: Kenny

In one Mission, the players were required to proceed with earning money and, in turn, eliminating the other players from the challenge at hand until only three remained. What they were told is that, of those three players, one would receive a potentially game-changing item, the Dagger, which would double that player's votes at the next round table. Inadvertently, the players managed to peg all three remaining Traitors as the most trustworthy, and amongst them, they voted for Kenny to take the item.

That evening, at the Round Table, Kenny used the Dagger to successfully Banish Joanne from the game, leveraging the Dagger on the vote (originally for Sharon) and a revote to seal Joanne's fate instead (though the Traitors would Murder Sharon that evening nonetheless).
9. Which of these events took place during the penultimate Round Table?

Answer: A Traitor quit the game

The players went into the penultimate Round Table with the intent to grill Michael who, at that point, had been accused of leading the discussions during Banishments with too stable a hand, but the conversation flipped when he aimed his sights on the actual Traitors, Maya and James A. As the topic led itself to the perfume bottle and the Murder in Plain Sight, all of the evidence mounted to the point where James, unable to get himself out of the corner he'd been painted into, revealed that he was made into a reluctant Traitor early on in the game.

With the reveal, the group went through the motions of having a vote, but they unanimously Banished him from the castle before the finals.
10. Which faction won this series of "The Celebrity Traitors"?

Answer: Faithfuls

Six players went into the final day of the competition and were told that anyone Banished from that point forward would not reveal their true nature from that point, so any eliminations would need to be done solely on gut instinct as they whittled down the playing field to a manageable and confident result. After Banishing Maya at the final Round Table, the last five stood at the End Game and removed both Leigh-Anne (a Faithful) and Kenny (the last Traitor).

Though this left three Faithfuls at the end, James B. opted to continue removing players, leading Sebastian and Romesh to eliminate him last. It meant that the two Faithfuls would take the prize, splitting £83,000 between their respective charities (Refugee Council and Choose Love).
