Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In Assault Missions, the player starts with a score of zero and earns points by killing enemies. Obstacle Missions work completely differently. How so?

Answer: The player starts with a perfect score, then has to avoid point deductions

Obstacle Missions do not actually reward the player for killing enemies. The player starts the match with the 'perfect score' for the Mission they have chosen, and will then suffer deductions to this point total if they fail to dodge an obstacle.
2. During the Space Wrap Obstacle Mission, the player is advised by the game to destroy asteroids in order to more safely traverse asteroid fields. Can all asteroids be destroyed?

Answer: No

It is unfortunately difficult to ascertain the difference between a destructible asteroid and an impervious one. That said, asteroids in extremely close proximity to one another are typically indestructible, while asteroids floating by themselves can usually be destroyed.
3. Assault, Survival and even Time Attack Mode will at least occasionally, if not entirely, place the player into an open world, sandbox-esque Mission, mixing it up with the faster paced auto scroller. Which type of level design do Obstacle Missions feature the most?

Answer: Auto-scroller

As the player gets deeper into the set of Obstacle Missions, the auto scrolling progresses in pace to make it harder getting through a Mission unscathed. This is the only one of four modes to feature exclusively auto-scrollers.
4. The Factory Gate Obstacle Mission introduces red-colored structures. These are the same obstacles encountered in Space Wrap, only distinctly colored red. What is the difference between a red and a non-red structure?

Answer: Red structures deal more damage

Colliding with any structure at all damages the spaceship, and if the ship takes too much damage, it explodes and the player loses a life. Red structures are nasty to collide with, dealing roughly 1/4th the shield or health bar.
5. The Giant Wrecks Obstacle Mission presents a unique challenge not seen in any other setting all around this entire game. Which of the following is true?

Answer: The player no longer gains brief invulnerability after taking damage

In every single other Mission in this whole entire game, if the player ever takes damage, they will be very briefly immune to damage for a couple short seconds, to allow for course correction to prevent follow up damage. That is not the case in Giant Wrecks. If the player collides with any obstacle at all, they will take constant damage that will destroy their spaceship in just a few short seconds if they do not course correct on the fly and nearly immediately.

Making it through this Obstacle Mission without taking at least one, probably numerous deaths is extremely difficult. Arguably the single hardest thing to do in this entire game.
6. Giant Wrecks is an auto-scrolling mission. Compared to other auto-scrolling Missions in this game, is the scrolling faster or slower than they are?

Answer: Faster

The loss of invulnerability is tough to cope with, but even harder when the scrolling is as sheerly cracked as it is on this Mission. The speed of scrolling is arguably an even greater detriment than the sudden loss of brief invulnerability after taking damage.
7. A perfect performance on Giant Wrecks would give the player a score of what?

Answer: 576

Good luck ever actually getting this score. It almost feels oppressively impossible to do, between the extremely fast paced scrolling and the damning punishment for slipping up even slightly.
8. Circa Frenzy is the game's final Obstacle Mission. This Mission is themed uniquely around the player dodging structures in tight ways. What shape will the majority of these structures be?

Answer: Circle

Circular ring structures, in which the player must ride through them, are incredibly prevalent and get progressively harder to deal with. The hardest obstacle, however, would have to be various giant circular structures designed almost as if steering wheels.

The player must find a narrow opening between columns in the steering wheel structures to pass through, which can be difficult with how fast paced this game is.
9. What is the highest possible score achievable on Circa Frenzy?

Answer: 601

Astoundingly, this is slightly higher than the Giant Wrecks perfect score. And while attaining perfection on this map is no easy task, it pales in comparison to the difficulty boasted by Giant Wrecks in doing so.
10. Per the game's lore, what happens when the player finishes all Obstacle Missions?

Answer: They arrive on Planet Axteria

All Obstacle Missions take place either in outer space or approaching the surface of Axteria. Giant Wrecks takes place on the surface, yet is not the final Obstacle Mission. The other four occur in outer space.
