Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The game's first mission period, also an Assault Mission, is Approaching Planet Axteria. As this is an Assault Mission, there is something at the very end the player must destroy to proceed. What is the target here?

Answer: USF Communication Center

Per the overhead commander giving instructions to the player, this Communication Center is being used to analyze the exterior structure of Axteria, and communicate key aspects of the planet to USF's forces inside of the planet. By destroying it, the player can obstruct USF's efforts to mobilize.
2. What is the highest possible score that can be received on Approaching Planet Axteria?

Answer: 99

By destroying all enemies during the mission then finishing the one mandatory objective, players will receive a score of exactly 99. This score is by no means compulsory to earn and the game doesn't even acknowledge players that do, but for completionists, this is the number to shoot for - literally.
3. The second Assault Mission is Axteria Surface Assault. As the name suggests, the player will be approaching the surface of the planet itself. What is the target which players must destroy to complete the Mission?

Answer: Anti-Air Turrets

The premise of this is that these turrets, while somehow incapable of shooting the player, are a major detriment to other efforts to supply Axteria with aerial aid. Thus, gunning them down makes space (no pun intended) for other aircraft to safely enter the planet.
4. It is during Axteria Surface Assault specifically that the overhead commander giving the player instructions reveals his name. What is the commander's name?

Answer: Hazel

On PlayStation specifically, beating the Approaching Planet Axteria Mission gives the player the "Hazel's Salute" trophy. It is unlikely players will connect the dots unless they are unbelievably astute, but fret not, as Hazel reveals his name manually on the very next Assault Mission.
5. Right before entering the Mech Factory for the Assault Mission named "Mech Factory", the player is informed that they're to receive direct support infiltrating the factory from the Cyborg Faction. Does this end up happening?

Answer: No

Unbeknownst to Commander Hazel, the USF had already obliterated the Cyborg Faction prior to the player arriving at the Mech Factory. When the USF did this is never clarified, but because Hazel had assumed the Cyborg Faction was still active, it likely couldn't have been terribly long before the events of this game.
6. The player's overhead commander notes that the USF hacked defense mechanisms in the Mech Factory. This culminates in said hacked mech turning into the only enemy seen in this Mission. What enemy does the player do battle with here?

Answer: Robots

Robots greatly differentiate themselves from other enemies in two ways. The first is having by far the fastest movement speed out of any enemy except for the USF Elite Fighters. They will quickly catch up to the player, appear in front of them and attack.

They also have a strangely high aggro range, so it is likely the player will attract small groups of Robots throughout this level, rather than fight each Robot one-on-one.
7. Upon arriving to the Mushroom Caves for the Mushroom Cave Assault Mission, the player is informed that the USF aims to harness the 'special energy' from the humongous mushrooms to craft nuclear weaponry. What is the main target for this Assault Mission?

Answer: Tanks

This map has a bit of a melting pot of enemies, with many of them at least appearing once. That said, three Tanks around the map which the USF had been slowly filling with mushroom energy, profile as the targets for destruction in this one. The Tanks do not fight back, so simply shooting or bombing them will suffice.
8. The Mushroom Caves map is by far the largest one in the game. In the Assault Mission located here, what is the highest score players can possibly achieve?

Answer: 440

This place has a whopping 102 total enemies, destroying everyone of them will earn a 440 score. Since there is no time limit for Assault Missions, completionists may spend a long time here but can eventually attain this score.
9. During the Command Center Assault Mission, the player is put through a bit of a surprise for a final Mission. Juxtaposed to Mech Factory and Mushroom Caves especially, what is true about this Mission?

Answer: It is a lot shorter/faster paced

Mech Factory and Mushroom Caves were essentially open world, sandbox levels where the player could freely traverse. Command Center Assault is an auto-scroller, forcing players to fly through the level at a very fast pace. As well, numerous obstacles, enemies and the USF Elite Fighters appear to attack the player here, mandating fast responses to their presence lest the player wish to be obliterated.
10. The game's final Assault Mission follows up the game's hugest map in the Mushroom Caves. Which of the following harbors the higher maximum score, a score achieved by killing all enemies?

Answer: Command Center Assault

There are less enemies during this Mission and the Mission on the whole is a lot shorter than Mushroom Caves. However, there are fifteen USF Elite Fighters which give a lot of score when destroyed. It is incredibly difficult due to the fast pace of the map, but it is possible for the player to destroy all enemies and earn a score of 476, trumping the 440 Mushroom Caves offers.
