Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Planet Axteria is a vast land without much life inhabiting it. Which type of terrain does the player experience when first entering Axteria?

Answer: Desert

Most of Axteria is deserted land, and there is scarcely any food or water to be seen. This probably explains why humans do not inhabit Axteria, but then also somewhat calls into question why the USF is so interested in it to begin with.
2. According to the player's overhead command, what is the USF's main goal with Axteria?

Answer: Colonize and enslave its inhabitants

The USF is occupying major space on Axteria, attempting to mine its surface and access its strangely giant, possibly special mushrooms to create nuclear weaponry. Freeing Axteria from the USF is the central goal of the story.
3. The direct exterior of Axteria proves to be quite unsafe. What lies here?

Answer: Asteroid field

This ends up being the premise of an Obstacle Mission, with the player predictably having to navigate this asteroid field during said mission. Per the game's lore, the asteroid field is actually unsafe to the point of even deterring USF, explaining why no hostile forces reside around it.
4. Right outside of Axteria, the player will be approached by USF's "elite fighters". How many of them appear?

Answer: Fifteen

These 'elite fighters' are no joke, and will immediately begin the level peppering the player with explosives and heat-seeking shots which are difficult to dodge. Fortunately, they also have a high drop rate on shields, health and even a sizeable drop rate on lives, making them very rewarding to destroy.
5. On Axteria, an enormous factory known as the Mech Factory can be found. According to the player's overhead commander, who owns, or owned, this Mech Factory?

Answer: The Cyborg Faction

Unfortunately, the Cyborg Faction was completely destroyed before the events of this game. With the USF taking over, this enormous Mech Factory could be very dangerous if it fell into the wrong hands, apparently containing a series of high tech advancements that have not been made available to humans yet.

This sets the stage for the player to infiltrate the factory, driving USF forces out.
6. Upon entering the Mech Factory, the player is informed that the Cyborg Faction aims to help rebel against USF, and will be promptly sending reinforcements to the player. How many units/troops will the player end up receiving from the Cyborg Faction?

Answer: Zero

As it turns out, the USF actually wiped out the Cyborg Faction when driving them out of the Mech Factory. Pushing USF back out of the Mech Factory ends up being the premise of entering it entirely.
7. In order to enter the Mech Factory, the player must go through the Factory Gate. Was the Factory Gate built to accommodate/receive spacecraft?

Answer: No

This is made very, very clear by the extremely tight corridors and various mechanical gizmos that make it near impossible to comfortably fit a whole space craft through. This is the premise for Factory Gate becoming an Obstacle Mission.
8. In total, how many giant mushrooms can be found in the Mushroom Caves?

Answer: 21

These mushrooms are stupidly huge, literal hundreds of times larger than the player's spaceship. The mushrooms themselves harbor a mysterious, unknown energy that the USF believes capable of contributing to nuclear weapon assembly. As such, the player is essentially tasked with defending these huge mushrooms.
9. The final conflict on Axteria to finally defeat USF involves first dealing with USF's "special forces". Compared to USF's regular craft, what enhancement is gained by the special forces?

Answer: Movement Speed

The special forces' ships are indicated by a maroonish-red/brown color that is quite distinct despite fighting them in a deserted land. They are extremely fast, far faster than regular USF aircraft, and the player must be at the ready to dodge plenty and fire back when opportunities present themselves.

The special forces are fast enough to take the player out quickly, and they can close the gap to do it in a hurry too.
10. In order to fully defeat the USF, what must the player kill/destroy?

Answer: The USF Command Center

The final mission of the entire story is something of a 'final conflict', where the player destroys the USF Command Center at the very end. In theory, the player could get here without actually destroying a craft being actively piloted by USF, but it would be very difficult and players have no incentive to do so, so it's not likely to happen.
