Author's Note: Note: I didn't know until making this quiz, but the DS version of "Black Ops 1" has a mission in a separate campaign known as 'The Payback'. This quiz does not refer to that mission at all. They are entirely separate missions from separate campaigns, despite technically both being "Black Ops 1".

Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Mason and Woods begin this mission in captivity, taken hostage by some Vietcong soldiers. At the beginning, one of them hands Woods a gun and orders him to "play". What 'game' are the VCs demanding he play?

Answer: Russian Roulette

Russian Roulette is definitely not a game to be played at a social setting, like a party. The idea is that a revolver is loaded with six bullets; some of them are harmless blanks, some are real bullets. The idea of the 'game' is for 'players' to take turns holding the gun up to their head and pulling the trigger. If the trigger pulls and a blank was loaded, the 'player' survives and passes the gun around for other players to try. I'm sure you can guess how the 'winner' is determined.

In this sequence, Woods 'plays' the game and thankfully gets lucky, ending up with a harmless blank.
2. While held captive by the VCs, Joseph Bowman refuses to play the 'game'. What happens to him as a result?

Answer: He is killed

Bowman refuses to play, which attracts the annoyance of a Vietcong presiding over the 'game'. The VC demands again that Bowman play, only for him to spit in the VC's face. This results in Bowman getting clubbed to death right in front of Mason.
3. Once Woods and Mason escape captivity, they manage to board a vehicle and turn the entire situation on its head. What do they ride?

Answer: Hind

This is one of the more purely fun parts of this entire campaign, as the Hind is an absolute blast to pilot. The player must spend time gunning down all manner of enemies and blowing things up at their leisure. For reference, this is the exact same sequence players get to enjoy in Multiplayer when they end up on a twelve kill streak.
4. As players are cruising around, if interested in side achievements, they may wish to check their fire. How is the "With Extreme Prejudice" achievement earned?

Answer: Use Rockets only

The Hind has both a minigun and a rocket launcher attached to it. Simply put, if the player pretends they don't have the minigun and only uses the rocket launcher, they will earn this achievement. They have infinite rockets, so they don't need to be too concerned over ammo conservation.
5. Woods and Mason approach Kravchenko's compound and find a number of American soldiers kept prisoner. There is also a certain Russian soldier here as well. Who appears to Mason here?

Answer: Viktor Reznov

Even if you haven't been paying any attention at all, Reznov being here should be a complete and utter mind-tease that psychologically slaps the player across the face. Simply put, it would make zero sense for Reznov to be here for any reason. This is perhaps his most damningly unrealistic appearance yet. If the player has been paying attention to the story thus far, they will now for sure know that something wacky and weird is up with Reznov, and the player will almost certainly be rattled by his constant inexplicable appearances.
6. What weapon does the player begin with in this mission not counting 'the game' played at the beginning of the mission?

Answer: CZ75

The Russian Roulette game is played with a Python. Once Woods and Mason manage to escape, the VC guard killed drops a CZ75 that the player must initially make-do with.
7. Which of the following is a gun which can be picked up throughout this mission?

Answer: Olympia

The Olympia is very, very rare and is only seen used indoors by the Vietcong. Very little of this mission takes place in doors; the opening sequence of Mason and Woods escaping captivity, then towards the end when they break into Kravchenko's compound, and neither sequence lasts long at all.
8. The "Russian bar-b-q" side achievement is strangely difficult to earn. Which of the following is required to happen for the player to get this achievement?

Answer: An ally must die

It isn't a specific ally who must die, as Woods is invincible anyway. The player must wait for a nameless, random ally to die on the battlefield. This ally must be wielding a Galil specifically, and this Galil must have a Flamethrower attachment on it.

To earn "Russian bar-b-q", the player must simply kill ten enemies with a Flamethrower. Unfortunately, they do not begin the game with a flamethrower and there isn't a reliable, repeatable way to get one. As such, the player must pick one up.

Unfortunately, Russian enemies only use the RPK, Uzi and, rarely, Olympia in this mission. None of these weapons can have a Flamethrower attached to them.

Randomly generated allies can have, at random, a Galil or an MP5K. The former can have a Flamethrower attachment randomly on it. The player must wait for a random ally to die, then go and see if that ally had a Galil with a Flamethrower on them.

Unfortunately, the player cannot simply keep killing allies over and over again to check their drops. Doing this enough will cause them to fail the mission due to friendly fire. As such, they must wait for the enemy AI Russians to do the killing for them.
9. Intel recovered during this mission reveals that the NVA have quite a large amount of US servicemen held at prisoner of war camps. How many approximately do they note?

Answer: 500

Of course, Mason and Woods themselves were part of this 500 count until promptly breaking free and liberating many of their fellows in the process. This intel vaguely but is meant to reference the events of WMD, the previous mission.
10. The second piece of intel found in this mission discusses a real world man, who was a retired Army Lieutenant Colonel and became a military adviser to Treyarch, Col. Keirsey. What is this man's first name?

Answer: Hank

Keirsey is a retired Army Lieutenant Colonel, as mentioned. His first tour of duty was as a member of the 82nd Airborne Infantry. He participated in the Persian Gulf War, after which he was assigned to the Army's combat training center as a mentor. Here, he designed a course meant to train leaders in critical decision making, and Keirsey eventually manifested what would become the model for training staff and leaders across the entire Army.

As for his impact in the video game sector, in Keirsey's own words, "In the various parts of their development process, they can filter their grand scheme through me. I just look and say 'that doesn't look quite right', or 'rock on.'"
