Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Always play twice in a row.

Answer: Cheater

I mean, it's called Cheater, but it presents itself to you so freely. The Cheater Picto is a reward for defeating Sprong, the non-essential Continent boss that wades around in the sea northwest of the game's first major island (after Stone Wave Cliffs). If you're able to take him down, which is likely to happen somewhere between level 45 and 60, he'll drop this powerful ability, granting all party members leveraging it to attack double as often.

It's a game-changer, obviously, and opens the door to a number of powerful strategies in tougher fights, even if it costs 40 Lumina Points for any character to use without equipping it directly.
2. 10% increased damage while all allies are alive.

Answer: Teamwork

A helpful Picto, especially for a lower-level party, Teamwork can be obtained from a Gestral merchant waiting in the Yellow Harvest optional zone; all you need to do is fight him to unlock his hidden items and pay the upfront cost (just over 9,000 Chroma, which isn't that bad!).

In a game where every amount of damage matters, Teamwork stacks well with a number of other boosting Pictos, especially for early battle strength. And the catch is that, when learned, it only costs 5 Lumina Points for your other party members to make use of its ability.
3. Survive fatal damage with 1 Health. Once per battle.

Answer: Survivor

Despite your best efforts, you might still miss a block or parry or, worse, fall victim to an unavoidable effect that brings your health down to zero and forces you to react to a fallen party member, derailing the flow of a battle. Survivor gives a bit more time to prevent this from happening, acting as one last stopgap before having to use a Revive Tint by giving one last chance at life. Survivor is one Picto that players can purchase from the Grandis Merchant in Monoco's Station, but only if you deliver him Eternal Ice, an item dropped by the Gargant in Frozen Hearts.
4. Start each turn with 4 Barbapapa stacks. Every 5th hit with a Skill deals 600% more damage.

Answer: Feint

Although not included in the base game, having been introduced as part of the 'Thank You Update DLC', Feint will be handed over if you fight Monsieur Frappe in Verso's Drafts, a new area with tough foes and valuable rewards.

If you haven't encountered this area yet, it'll probably leave you wondering what 'Barbapapa' is. This unique status effect affects a party member in battle by dropping their attack's damage to 1 for a round. In effect, this means that anyone using Feint is virtually useless for a number of rounds of battle, but it results in the fifth Skill being a massive blast.
5. Revive with 100% Health. Once per battle.

Answer: Second Chance

While a Picto like Survivor gives party members a last opportunity to stay in the battle without dying, Second Chance just crosses the threshold and does all the extra work for you, reviving a fallen Expedition member as if they never left. Naturally, a powerful Picto like this comes at a cost; if not equipped directly, it'll cost 40 Lumina Points for a player to use its ability. To get it, you just need to bring down Renoir before the Paintress battle near the Monolith's peak.
6. 25% increased damage on full Health.

Answer: Full Strength

Another Gestral merchant Picto, accessible if you defeat them in a battle, Full Strength appears very late in the story, only showing up near the Opera House in Lumière, only a short jump away from where you complete the game's final battle against Renoir.

It's another Picto that does wonders for a prepared party, giving the strength to party members who lead in with full health. It's a pricy one though-- it'll cost more than 52,000 Chroma.
7. Each successive Skill hit deals 10% more damage.

Answer: Frenzy

Another Picto brought into the mix in the 'Thank You Update DLC', Frenzy awards players for chaining attacks and leveraging Skills that strike multiple times, increasing their power hit-by-hit (in addition to providing significant stat buffs in Defense and Speed for the user).

A reward for beating the Licornapieds, a boss found deep in Verso's Drafts, it stacks very well with a number of other Pictos that already provide damage bonuses or added hits.
8. On turn start, if no damage taken since last turn, recover 100% Health.

Answer: Clea's Life

Named as such because of the powerful foe Clea Dessendre, Clea's Life can only be collected if you defeat Clea in her unleashed form in the Flying Manor in the late game. A colossal boon to a party member that is fortunate enough to evade an attack or, otherwise, parry their way through a bad situation, it's surprising to find as a Picto that only needs 15 Lumina Points to equip indirectly.

Interestingly, players can also find the Clea's Death Picto from the Clea Unleashed fight in the Endless Tower, but in the 'Thank You Update DLC'. This Picto is a bit trickier to manage as it triggers on a party member's death, giving allies 25% increased damage until they die.
9. 25% increased damage until death. 20% decreased damage on death. (Once)

Answer: First Life

Another fortunate 'Thank You Update DLC' Picto, this one is reliant on your ability to hold the line against tough foes, and provided you have strong Defense or great parrying abilities, you should be able to avoid taking the detrimental effect from the description's second half.

This one is a reward for completing the Chromatic Lampmaster fight in the new canvas in the Endless Tower; it's the first such boss in this new gauntlet of foes, and it's followed by Duollistes, Clea Unleashed, and Simon the Divergent Star, perhaps the toughest fight in the game.
10. Damage can exceed 9,999.

Answer: Painted Power

One of the game's later Pictos, Painted Power is handed over when you defeat the Paintress, and while it may seem like a late point at which you should be receiving such a detrimental item (since every attack before this point will cap off at 9,999), the game doesn't end with Act 2. Removing the cap is particularly necessary for beating Act 3 and post-game content as the battles only get harder once you level your way up to the final challenges "Expedition 33" provides.
