Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Ordinarily, doing a campaign mission, the game will maintain and update the player on whatever their current objective is. Which of the following is an objective in the Revelations mission?

Answer: Ascension 9 18 8 23 8 3 8 22 15 21 17 6 16 1 7 8 19 10 22 19 23 14 17 14 22 0 12 8 8 10 7 1 1 22

The thirteen missions leading up to this one were all based in the past, retellings mostly from Mason's perspective. This mission finally takes place in the present, where Mason is strapped to an interrogation chair. When viewing this objective, essentially, Mason is undergoing a mental breakdown where he sees visions of various, seemingly random, numbers around him.

These numbers aren't actually random. They're meant to be a 'passcode' Dragovich tied to his sleeper cells all around America. When the numbers are read off, they will activate and release Nova 6 to major parts of the US.
2. Finally, at long last, the mysterious identity of The Interrogator is revealed. Who is The Interrogator?

Answer: Jason Hudson

Before Hudson's status as The Interrogator is revealed, he can briefly be heard arguing with Weaver before he steps out of the hidden room he's in to speak to Mason directly.
3. For such a major character, Viktor Reznov's ultimate fate is finally revealed. Reznov, at this point in the narrative, is dead. Where did he die?

Answer: Vorkuta

This information has been told to the player before, but here, it is actually shown. Right after Mason boards the train to escape Vorkuta, Reznov is run down by Spetsnaz before getting too far. However, Reznov was likely not killed by the Spetsnaz directly; there is a brief cinematic showcasing the truck Reznov was driving flipping over and exploding, likely killing him in the process.

Hudson goes on to directly tell Mason that Reznov was not the Soviet defector, he was never with Mason in Laos, nor was he ever with Mason at Rebirth Island. Mason, not Reznov, is the one who killed Dr. Steiner.
4. Mason wasn't just involved with Viktor Reznov due to his brainwashing. In fact, when Nikita Dragovich and the KGB brainwashed him, they couldn't have cared less for Reznov. Dragovich wanted Mason to kill someone. Who was it?

Answer: John F Kennedy

Earlier, during the U.S.D.D mission, Mason meets JFK directly. During this sequence, he briefly has a vision of him pulling out a gun and shooting the then-US president. This vision most definitely came as a result of Dragovich attempting to brainwash Mason into killing JFK. Fortunately for the Americans, Reznov was able to tamper with Dragovich's work slightly, and redirected the programmed rage towards Dragovich, Kravchenko and Steiner.
5. After the brainwashing is finally broken, Mason finally is able to recall where Dragovich is located, and where the Americans can put a stop to the Nova 6 program once and for all. Where is Dragovich hiding?

Answer: The Rusalka

Mason has a vision, flashing back to when he was captured after the Operation 40 mission. Here, he can plainly see Dragovich and the real Fidel Castro discussing what they'd do with him. It is the Rusalka where the Nova 6 sleeper cells are set to be activated from. With this information in hand, the final campaign mission is set to begin, ending Revelations.
6. The concept of 'Mutual Assured Destruction' is touched on right before the Redemption mission begins. What is 'MAD'?

Answer: A preemptive nuclear strike from the US

Essentially, president JFK has commissioned a massive nuclear strike targeting a mass swathe of Russian territory. It is set to go off either in tandem with, or before the Nova 6 sleeper cells activate.

Hypothetically, if MAD actually occurred, it would result in a devastating loss of life that would produce eye-popping numbers. Especially when combined with the death toll that Nova 6's activation would result in. As such, MAD is something everyone in the campaign, apart from maybe Dragovich, wants to avoid.
7. Hudson and Mason try to land their Hind during Redemption, but their Hind gets blasted and eventually forced into a crash landing. Mason must destroy two Mi-8 HIPs. He thankfully gets a super cool weapon to do it with. What is the first wieldable weapon on Redemption?

Answer: Valkyrie Rockets

This is a killstreak from the Multiplayer mode, basically copy/pasted. It's a pretty cool one to wield, as the player fires rockets that they themselves will manually guide the trajectory of. In this mission, they functionally have infinite ammo, as there is a supply drop right to the side of where the Valkyrie Rockets are picked up that is everlasting.

On the Nintendo Wii version, sadly, this is instead a Strela-3 that the player wields.
8. Efficient destruction of the two Mi-8 HIPs can earn the player an achievement. How does the player earn "Double Whammy"?

Answer: Destroy both of them in one shot

The player technically has infinite Valkyrie Rockets, so there is no 'lore' or story based reason for them to need to be efficient. That said, the Mi-8 HIPs fly all around the player and basically never stop moving. Crucially, they will never hover near each other.

This makes it impossible to blow them both up at the same time. Instead, the player must use their lone rocket to blast one of the crafts in such a way that it careens towards the other one and destroys it in the process.
9. There is a weapon in Redemption which the player can pick up that is not seen anywhere in the rest of the campaign, is entirely inaccessible in Zombies, and takes a lot of grinding to unlock in Multiplayer. What weapon is this?

Answer: Stoner63

The Stoner63 is by far and away the best LMG in the entire game. It is, statistically, an amalgamation of the best aspects of the RPK and HK21, while not inheriting their weaknesses. It features the former's high fire rate and the latter's good damage output, while bringing to the table an above average reload speed and excellent sprint to fire timing.

The player does somewhat have to go out of their way to get their hands on it in Redemption. There are a total of six Soviets wielding this weapon. However, they are all a floor above the player while on the Rusalka, and the player is never directed to go to them by the game. Simply killing them and taking the Stoner from their corpses will do.

In Multiplayer, it is far, far more annoying to get ahold of, though at least the player gets to actually keep it when they do. The player must first reach level 54, which is the second to last level reachable. They must have previously used their COD points to purchase the HK21, RPK and M60; they do not have to even use these weapons, but they must be purchased and unlocked. Once L54 and those three LMGs are acquired, the Stoner63 becomes available.

It sadly does not appear at all in Zombies.
10. Mason, Hudson and Grigori Weaver manage to rout the Russians in Redemption, securing an easy victory and putting an end to the Nova 6 threat. Hudson gives Weaver orders to have the place blown to pieces, as to crush them for good. Do they leave the ship when Hudson gives this order?

Answer: No

Dragovich has already been presumed dead in the past, only to return and nearly enact his plans for mass casualty across the US. As such, Mason and Hudson develop two goals; shut down the transmission of the numbers, and personally confirm the kill on Dragovich. Weaver, on the other hand, departs the mission at this point to carry out Hudson's orders.
11. Mason finally locates Dragovich and manages to subdue him. However, per his 'programming', an enraged Mason would not let Dragovich leave alive. His method of execution was quite visceral. How does Mason end up killing Dragovich?

Answer: Drowning him

There is a sequence where Mason tackles Dragovich to the ground, and there is about a two foot tall puddle he pushes Dragovich into. Here, the player must rapidly mash their controller's shoulder buttons as Mason and Dragovich struggle with each other. If successful, Mason will push Dragovich's head into the puddle of water and simply hold him there until he dies.
12. With Dragovich dealt with, Mason and Hudson barely escape with their lives. As an exhausted Mason is swimming to shore, he is warmly congratulated on his victory by a long time ally. Who is it?

Answer: Viktor Reznov

Reznov is not actually seen, but Mason can hear his voice congratulating him on a job well done, having killed Dragovich, Kravchenko and Steiner as he was programmed to do.

While this may seem wholesome and heartwarming, it serves as a grim notice- unlike what Hudson had assumed, Mason's brainwashing is not cleared just yet. As long as he can still hear or see Reznov, there is leftover influence from the KGB's work.
13. After Mason makes it to safety, a series of cinematics plays. Some are actually real world clips plugged into this video game, one which shows President JFK arriving at the destination where, in real life, he was assassinated. The cutscene goes then goes to Mason, muttering seemingly random numbers and the word "Texas". In the video game, what happens here?

Answer: Mason kills JFK

Mason mutters "11, 22, Texas, 6.5 Millimeter". This may seem random, but 11/22 would mean November 22nd, which is the day in 1963 JFK was killed. Texas is the state it happened in, and 6.5mm is the caliber of bullet used to kill JFK. Right as the cutscene finishes, Mason mutters 'ascension', which was the name of the brainwash program the KGB used on him at Vorkuta.

The cutscene is meant to depict that, in the end, the original programming instilled into Mason worked, and he assassinated JFK.

Obviously, this is not real life. In the real world, Lee Harvey Oswald killed JFK.
14. Intel in Redemption can reveal the exact timeline that the Soviets and Dragovich underwent in developing Nova 6. How long did it take Dragovich to, in the Intel's words, make Nova 6 "fully operational"?

Answer: Six years

Production of the chemical began in 1961, and intel also reveals that Fidel Castro was involved with Nova 6 from moment one as well. In 1967, Nova 6 was noted as becoming 'fully operational' after undergoing a great deal of testing.
15. Shockingly, intel can also reveal that Alex Mason, Jason Hudson and Grigori Weaver were not intended to receive a hero's welcome on returning to the US. Chief Intelligence Analyst Ryan Jackson pens a note to CIA Director Richard Kain, asking him to do what with Mason, Hudson and Weaver?

Answer: Have them killed

It's a fair bit surprising, per the intel, just how close the execution of these three was to happening. The letter specifically was requesting a squadron of Navy SEALs led by Jonathan Price meet Mason, Hudson and Weaver with orders to kill them all. Intel clarifies that these three are considered "clear and present threats to national security". It cites Mason's "unreliable" mental state as the chief reason for this. Though, the Intel does mention 'amassed evidence' that it never provides which leads to the trio being recommended for "cleansing".

It ultimately never comes to fruition, as apparently the trio would go on to hear of these plans and fled to South Africa.

Richard Kain, the man of whom Jackson sent the letter to, would go on to be fired entirely by the CIA. After this, the "Operation Charybdis" was abandoned.
