Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. As Mario commences this adventure he won't be in the Mushroom Kingdom. Instead, he'll be visiting which destination?

Answer: Flower Kingdom

Starting this adventure in the Flower Kingdom, only a short hop away from Mushroom Kingdom, Mario and his friends will have received an invitation from Prince Florian. During this first visit to the castle, however, Bowser will swoop in riding his Koopa Clown Car and take the reality-bending Wonder Flower for himself, merging with the Flower Castle to create a floating citadel, and causing havoc across the land.

Naturally, Mario is able to step in.
2. How many different playable characters are available in the game?

Answer: 12

Certainly more than usual for a "Mario" platformer, a dozen options come straight out of the box for new players and the roster includes Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Daisy, Yellow and Blue Toad, Toadette, four colours of Yoshi, and Nabbit, who makes his return from "New Super Mario Bros. U".

A single player chan choose from any of them while multiplayer games can split some of these between a maximum of four players. Naturally, some of them have different handling and capabilities from others.
3. Although Mario needs to collect Wonder Seeds throughout each level, which of these does he collect from boss palaces?

Answer: Royal Seed

Progress in the game is usually built around the accumulation of Wonder Seeds, items that Mario can use to empower himself to fight off massive, overarching threats on the world map at key junctures. In addition to finding these in spots in each major level, Mario can also collect them from trapped Poplins, Poplin Shops, and challenge levels.

Boss Palaces, however, are a different story, since Mario can collect a small handful of Royal Seeds at the end of each World to do away with one of the Piranha Clouds surrounding Bowser's Fortress.
4. One of the early, new Power-Ups in this game allows Mario to transform into which of these animals?

Answer: Elephant

A new twist on the 'Mario-turns-into-an-animal' gimmick we've seen in the past, early levels will introduce players to Elephant Fruit, red items that make Mario large and in-charge with his bulk, his water-shooting trunk, and his hefty punches. Compared to other "Mario" games, "Wonder" is a bit lighter on new Power-Ups but old standards like the Fire Flower and the Drill Mushroom make reappearances this time around.
5. Who, of these, wears Badges?

Answer: Prince Florian

One of the benefits to having prince Florian come along for the adventure is the fact that he'll be able to don Badges, unique, equippable items that will give Mario a power or a bonus until it's swapped out for a different one. These can be purchased in Poplin Shops in some cases, but others can be collected by completing challenges found around the map. Florian can only equip one of these at any given time and there are twenty-four in the game.
6. Flower Coins, used at Poplin Shops, are which colour?

Answer: Pink

While Mario can collect regular coins throughout the game as per normal (getting an Extra Life for one hundred of them), Flower Coins are the new regional currency for this game, appearing throughout nearly ever course in different denominations. These can be spent at Poplin Shops in every region, allowing Mario to buy much needed supplies, Badges, Wonder Seeds, and Standees. Each major level also contains three large 10-Flower Coins, and collectors would do good to find them all.
7. Which of these Worlds does NOT appear in game?

Answer: Frosted Glacier

The incorrect answers here happen to be the first three Worlds found in "Super Mario Bros. Wonder" and they're followed by Sunbaked Desert, Fungi Mines, Deep Magma Bog, the connecting world of the Petal Isles, and a Special World accessed from all major locations. Although this seems like fewer Worlds than most other "Mario" sidescrollers, it actually contains more than the typical amount of levels if you add up all the extra challenges and sidepaths. There's also a combination of linear and open exploration areas as well.

Frosted Glacier appears in "New Super Mario Bros. U", a previous "Mario" sidescroller from the Wii U era.
8. The final fight against Bowser will feature up to how many Wonder-infused hands?

Answer: Four

Once enough Royal Seeds are collected, Mario will finish out his exploration of the Petal Isles by advancing on Castle Bowser in the middle of the map, and here, after a gauntlet of levels, he'll have to face Bowser at the end of 'The Final Battle! Bowser's Rage Stage'.

Here, Bowser will put out one final musical performance battle for the game, calling upon his Wonder powers to create several fiery creatures and two, then three, then four stone hands. Mario needs to hit the glowing underside of Wonder Bowser's head, then the switch on top of it, to end the battle, restore the Flower Kingdom, and celebrate the end of the adventure.
9. The game's final level, 'WONDER?', is which of the following?

Answer: A Poplin house

Once Mario defeats Wonder Bowser, the game isn't quite over. If you've managed to find your way around the map effectively you've probably been able to stumble upon access points to Special World, the final challenge of the game comprised of ten five-star difficulty levels, all of which lead to one last level, a Poplin house, where you can find your final reward. Completing all of these levels requires a lot of effort, including collecting as many things from throughout the game as you can.
10. How many medals can each save file collect to fully-beat the game?

Answer: Six

As with a handful of other "Mario" games before it (like "New Super Mario Bros. Wii U"), the game may not simply end, for some completionists, when Bowser is defeated. Instead, the game will reward players with medals signifying key milestones. There are six of these, each pertaining to different facets of the game, and getting all of them requires finishing 'The Final Battle! Bowser's Rage Stage', getting every Wonder Seed, getting the flag on each Goal Pole, getting every Ten-Flower Coin, getting every Standee, and getting every Badge.
