Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. If Mario finds a Wonder Flower in 'Piranha Plants on Parade', what will the Trottin' Piranha Plants do?

Answer: Sing

In one of the game's earliest levels, the greatest indication that this may be a bit wackier an adventure than normal comes when Mario collects a Wonder Flower in 'Piranha Plants on Parade' because it will start Mario down the slow but joyous path followed by a number of Trottin' Piranha Plants of all sizes who will emerge from pipes to sing and dance.

Although they seem kind, these Piranha Plants will still hurt like any other, even in the midst of a flash mob.
2. Skedaddlers are creatures which fire which of these as projectiles?

Answer: Fruits

Appearing for the first time in the 'Scram, Skedaddlers!' level of Pipe-Rock Plateau, these bipedal creatures seem to be quite afraid of Mario and will always run in the opposite direction, leading to situations where Mario has to pursue them to get what they possess. Additionally, these creatures shoot projectiles, not unlike Birdo, though they appear to be fruits instead of eggs.

These foes are easy to defeat with Mario's own projectiles or a jump on the head, but only if Mario catches up.
3. Can Mario hurt himself by touching a Hoppo?

Answer: No

First seen in the early level 'Here Come the Hoppos', these rotund, purple hippo-like creatures can be found grazing in a number of locations in the game, but the minute Mario nudges them in any direction or another, they'll roll around until they get stuck, creating a bit of a bumper ball situation.

The other catch is that these creatures are quite rubbery, leading them not only to bounce around upon contacting surfaces or obstacles, but leading Mario to be able to jump on them to get higher. Naturally, they dont' damage Mario through any of these means.
4. Rolla Koopas maneuver themselves with which of these?

Answer: Rollerskates

Appearing for the first time in the 'Rolla Koopa Derby' level of Pipe-Rock Plateau, these Koopas just seem to be enjoying their activities before Mario comes looking for Wonder Seeds. Instead of wandering around on foot, these Koopas glide around on rollerskates, zooming along inclines and declines at a faster speed than normal, even managing to navigate hidden ridges while Mario needs to rely on the Wonder Flower to ascend into the trees.
5. Shovas have the ability to move pipes. They appear as early as which level?

Answer: Swamp Pipe Crawl

Not unlike Chargin' Chucks and Sumo Bros. in "Mario" games of yesteryear, Shovas seem to know how to get their hands dirty with physical labour. When they show up in the levels of "Super Mario Wonder", they'll prove to be worth keeping around if only because they can move large fixtures including boxes and, in some cases, pipes, socketing them into other pipe pieces to reveal hidden items or passages that would otherwise go unnoticed. If there are no Shovas around, Mario can also push these around if he's large enough.
6. Smackerels generally hide in which of these spots?

Answer: Below the sand

Found in the Petal Isles level of 'Leaping Smackerel' (go figure), these large fish burrow their way into loose, sandy ground and swim straight into a direction of their choosing, usually upwards, attempting to catch anyone or anything in their path. It means that Mario will either need to swim fast to avoid getting eaten up, or he needs to position himself so that it'll eat what he wants it to, and that can include other enemies, blocks, or solid walls (provided the Smackerel is influenced by a Wonder Flower).
7. When affected by the Wonder Flower, Blewbirds will shoot which of these?

Answer: Bubbles

The Blewbird, introduced in the Petal Isle level 'Blewbird Roost', is a small, blue bird with the ability to fire long projectiles out of its face, creating platforms where those items strike surfaces straight ahead of them. Although these are necessary for Mario to climb his way through the level, they also have the ability to harm Mario if he stands in their way.

When the Wonder Flower is found here, Mario will instead find that these creatures shoot bubbles, allowing him to bounce upwards. Coincidentally, this is also the first level in which Mario can collect the Bubble Flower.
8. How many shots does a Baboom make?

Answer: Three

Explosive, little guys, these foes are similar to Bob-Ombs in that they walk around with all that firepower, just waiting to be kicked into action. With Babooms, however, this means three shots, directly into the air, like a trio of fireworks, destroying things at the end of their trajectory. Mario will get a chance, like with Bob-Ombs, to pick them up and place them once their fuse has been lit.

These appear for the first time in 'Fluff-Puff Peaks Flying Battleship' in World 2.
9. There are several types of Gamboos found throughout the game. Which is a colour they may appear in?

Answer: Purple

The Purple and Green versions of the Gamboo can be found in 'The Midway Trial: Hop to It' in Shining Falls, the game's third World. Quite the normal foes due to their similarity to Goombas, these enemies walk along platforms without causing too much hassle, and if Mario hops on them, they'll be incapacitated.

These creatures also appear, later on, in a metallic form that can conduct electricity. Their versatility comes form being stackable. In some cases, Mario will face these creatures when they're positioned on top of one another, creating difficult-to-leap-over towers.
10. Mumsies can be defeated by performing which of these actions?

Answer: Pulling their wrappings

Appearing for the first time in the Sunbaked Desert (World 4), these mummy-like foes are characterized by extensive head wrappings that will block Mario from getting past. The catch is that these wrappings end, at the creature's feet, with a pullable handle, so all Mario needs to do is tug and pull backwards, diminishing the foe to nothing. Mario can also pull the tab to a partial length, leaving the creature to be jumped on if needed. Fortunately, Mumsies can't be killed with a jump, so Mario can use them to his advantage.
11. Rift Mario only appears in one level of "Super Mario Wonder".

Answer: False

Only appearing through specific Wonder Effects, Rift Mario makes his first appearance in the World 4 level 'Color-Switch Dungeon', but makes a second in 'Beware of the Rifts' in the Fungi Mines (World 5). In both cases, this dark, cosmic version of Mario will emerge from a rip in time and space and mimic all of the player's movements, meaning that Mario has to keep moving, never retreading his same steps, to avoid getting hit. Rift Mario can be defeated, but only with fireballs, and even then, you need fifty of them to keep him down.
12. Noknoks appear to Mario in the form of what typically-inanimate object?

Answer: Door

Noknoks appear in a handful of late-game levels of "Super Mario Wonder", but always as a decoy or a mimic, intending to look like a door so that it can catch Mario unaware and eat him. First appearing in 'Light-Switch Mansion', these creatures blend in with other doors but spring into action when Mario nears, baring their teeth. Mario can hop on these like most other enemies and then open them to get a coin or find passage to a secret spot.
13. King Boo appears during a Wonder Effect in which what song is played?

Answer: 'A Night at the Opera'

At the end of 'Light-Switch Mansion' in Fungi Mines, Mario can head past the seemingly-final door to find a chamber containing the Wonder Flower, and when collected, an effect will start in which he has to navigate a chandelier-laden room while being pursued by King Boo, who travels along the left side of the screen. Using careful navigation as other Boos and Noknoks get in the way (and sing and dance), Mario can get the Wonder Seed at the end and keep King Boo at a distance, at least until one of the last levels of the game.
14. Which of these Power-Ups can not defeat a Kerpop?

Answer: Fire Flower

Found in the latter stages of the Deep Magma Bog, Kerpops appear, out the gate, like little, yellow kernels of corn, and since much of this World involves heat and lava, any amount of fire will cause them to pop, making them much more difficult to pin down with a jump attack.

The surefire way to get these guys to avoid taking on their second form is by swatting them out of the air, ideally as Elephant Mario since he can take on a lot of them at once before they fall out of the frying pan and into the...well... you know.
15. The final battle against Wonder Bowser technically takes place in which World?

Answer: Petal Isles

Although Mario navigates his way around the centrally-located Petal Isles throughout the game since it acts as a hub area connecting the six distinct regions of the game, he has to return there with the Wonder Seeds to advance on the Wonder-infused Castle Bowser.

In the final stage there, 'The Final Battle! Bowser's Rage Stage', he'll have to use the musically-inclined environment to jump up and hit Bowser's head from below, eventually unveiling a switch on top of Wonder Bowser that'll bring the whole battle (and the adventure) to an end.
