Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. 'The Adventure of the Great Departure': At what point does Ryunosuke Naruhodo stop saying "Yes!" as an objection and actually start using "Objection!"?

Answer: After one of Jezaille Brett's (many, many) insults

Ah, yes, one of the best moments in this case of ALL time:

Brett: "That's right. Surely even a little cockroach like you could understand something as simple as that!"

Jezaille's line here is what kicks Ryunosuke into gear down the attorney train:

Ryunosuke: "(What is this, welling up inside me...? I've never felt like this before. It's a sort of conviction to break down all the discrepancies... It's so intense. Almost rage-like... And more than anything else, it's an animalistic desire... to take down my prey!)"

Ryunosuke: "OBJECTION!"
2. 'In the Defendants' Antechamber': Which of these options is not something that Kazuma Asogi messes up in the Escapade's dialogue?

Answer: The 'filial piety' from his speech

Screwing up the bread pan tongue twister is, no joke, the basis of Kazuma's ever-flowing hachimaki ('Red headband, lead headband, dead headband').

For the samurai one, he says 'swamurai' and then stops himself from trying to finish it.

He actually manages to say the words 'filial piety' (when he couldn't in his speech compounded with the whole sentence), only to immediately transpose those syllables and say 'flirst pace' instead of 'first place'.
3. 'The Adventure of the Great Departure': How many hours would Dr. John Wilson not have been allowed to eat or drink post his dental appointment?

Answer: Three

To quote the Medical Report Card:

"Strictly no food or drink besides water for three hours post-procedure, until anaesthetic effects have passed."

It's quite important since he would have been at the restaurant for an hour, two tops, and therefore couldn't have eaten the steak planted in front of him at the time.
4. 'The Adventure of the Unbreakable Speckled Band': What's the country that Herlock Sholmes "mistakes" Ryunosuke from supposedly escaping from?

Answer: Afghanistan

(This is before he introduces himself, so you know.)

As we find out later, he's 'confusing' Ryu for Vilen Borshevik, who actually escaped from Russia and went through China (Shanghai, specifically) and then got up to some 'shenanigans' in Afghanistan, though he does also wonder if he's moonlighting in Russian since the dying message in this case says 'Wardrobe' in Russian in ink.
5. 'The Adventure of the Unbreakable Speckled Band': What breed of cat is Nikolina Pavlova's cat, Darka?

Answer: Russian Blue

Herlock points out the breed (Russian blue) during the Dance of Deduction. Wagahai, who is Soseki Natsume's cat, is a calico, though.
6. 'In a First-Class Cabin': At what point does Herlock's name appear on his text box?

Answer: Shortly before he leaves

Yep, he doesn't introduce himself at ALL during his impromptu investigation. He says just before he leaves and indirectly calls out Ryunosuke for hiding under bed (which Kazuma hadn't known himself at that point!).
7. 'At the British Supreme Court': Which of these isn't one of the absurd tax rules or bans discussed in this Escapade?

Answer: A ban on windows

There is a tax on windows, but they were never outright banned.
8. 'The Adventure of the Runaway Room': How late was Mael Stronghart to the meeting when Ryunosuke and Susato Mikotoba stood around waiting?

Answer: An hour, twelve minutes, and seven seconds

He's not very good with time, or just likes wasting time on purpose. (Don't worry, the four hour one won't happen until somewhere in Resolve, but an hour is nothing to sneeze at, either. The remaining options are actually how long until he has to leave to go to the next engagement he might have.)
9. 'The Adventure of the Runaway Room': You are required to check the storage compartment at the start of the trial before finding out it is empty later on.

Answer: False

While looking inside the moment the omnibus arrives would tip you off much faster that the items have been removed at some point in the trial when examined later, you don't have to do it - it gets explained by both Juror No. 5 that guild rules say they need to be stocked and by Barok van Zieks that there were items underneath when the police checked.
10. 'The Adventure of the Clouded Kokoro': What does Iris Wilson give Ryunosuke to show to Inspector Tobias Gregson so he and Susato may inspect the scene?

Answer: A five shilling piece and a postcard

Iris pays Inspector Gregson an 'appearance fee' when she writes him into her stories. In this case, it's a silver shilling worth five.

Iris: "Ah, goody. In that case... ...give Gregsy this from me, would you? If you do that, I'm sure he'll tell you what you want to know."

Ryunosuke: "What is this?"

Susato: "A five shilling piece and a postcard, it seems..."

As for what said postcard says:

Susato: "It reads: 'Tell the gentleman in black whatever he wants to know. I trust that won't be a problem?' Gosh! This will make the inspector help us, will it?"
11. 'In Sholmes's Suite': Herlock sets off a smoke prank intending to cause the illusion of a fire; which person in the suite was he intending to target with it?

Answer: Iris

He admits that he was trying to trick Iris into revealing where she keeps her savings to snatch some of it and buy a microscope. She doesn't fall for it, but she manages to trick Herlock into doing the same for an herb garden set! (Hey, she learned it from somewhere!)
12. 'At Naruhodo's Legal Consultancy': Which of the other escapades does this one call back to?

Answer: At the British Supreme Court

Iris mentions an old glass tax when Ryunosuke speaks about getting an aquarium for the anemone he's bought (one of the main points of this episode is that he can't resist any of the bric-a-brac shops between Baker Street and the Lord Chief Justice's office).
13. 'In Mr Natsume's Room': What is the English title of Ogai Mori's book, "Mai-hime"?

Answer: Dancing Queen

The gang is discussing this book when trying to prove to Soseki that a Japanese native can thrive in a different country (unlike him, in this case).
14. 'The Adventure of the Clouded Kokoro': What is the motif of John and Joan Garrideb?

Answer: Sun and Moon

You can see their rings on certain animations of their sprites while they're in court. There's also the matter of how their heads are shaped in regards to their hair or accessories. (Their concept art colors leaned more into this.)
15. 'On Briar Road': The entire point of this episode is to prove who owns the shilling that Roly Beate found on the road. Whose is it stated to be?

Answer: Ryunosuke Naruhodo's

The context is that Ryu bet a shilling in their poker match that Herlock supposedly won. However, Iris points out that Herlock had cheated which made it null and void. (Sadly it didn't matter in the end since Iris took it to pay for herbs, as she stated he needed to pay her back at some point.)
16. 'In the Bailey': What is the misunderstanding that almost everyone comes to regarding the 'murder' of Madam Rosie?

Answer: They assumed she was human

(Fun fact: this is one of the few Escapades not in Ryunosuke's point of view; in fact, it's in Barok's!)

Madam Rosie is stated to be a parakeet by Herlock, the one accused of 'murdering' her in the first place (don't worry, she was crushed, but is okay!). The Judge, Ryu, and Barok were all not aware of this, but Gregson was since he was trying to frame him.
17. 'The Adventure of the Unspeakable Story': Respectfully, what does Pop Windibank price Ryu and Susato's outfits at?

Answer: Sixpence and five guineas

Under the "Pawnbrokery" talk option, Pop immediately starts price tagging in his head before Ryu can even ask the question (much like a certain Ema Skye did to Phoenix Wright back in 'Rise from the Ashes'). Susato is happy about the price hers is set at, while Ryu is simply confused as he doesn't understand a pawnbroker's shop.
18. 'The Adventure of the Unspeakable Story': How long does Herlock speak on the stand before he passes out from his case-related injuries?

Answer: Five minutes

To quote the Great Detective himself:

Sholmes: "I have something of great importance I wish to give to the young lawyer over there. I need no more than five minutes. Would you be so kind as to spare us the time?"

It's granted by the Judge, and he passes out not a minute earlier or later after giving the important info.
