Interstate highway 35 (I-35) is one of the major north/south routes in the US. (In the US, one- or two-digit interstate highways that end in 5 are major north-south routes.)
I-35 starts at the US/Mexico border in Laredo, TX. It goes north from there, paralleling the eastern border of Texas from about 100 miles west. It goes through San Antonio, Austin (not listed), Waco, and Dallas/Ft. Worth before crossing into Oklahoma.
Entering Oklahoma, it goes through the middle of the non-panhandle portion of that state.
In Kansas, it goes north to Wichita, then turns northeast to Kansas City. It then cuts through the northwest corner of Missouri to Iowa.
It travels due north again through Des Moines, cutting through the middle of Iowa.
Its last state is Minnesota, where it goes through Minneapolis/St. Paul and then ending on the shores of Lake Superior in Duluth.
