It becomes apparent during the episode that her husband cheated on her and as a result of this, she kills cheating men. She has the chatchprahse "I can never go home."

We see instances of beetles, roaches and bee swarms during the episode.

Jared Padalecki portrayed Dean on "Gilmore Girls" for several seasons.

Another twist on the legend is that the victim does not have to conjure Mary him/herself for Mary to come after them, they just have to be present in the room (and apparently building as is clear from Mr. Schumaker's death) for Mary to victimize them.
