Answer: erythacus

The Congo is the first subspecies of the greys. The other is the Timneh, Psittacus erythacus timneh.

2. What is the name of the other, rarer subspecies of grey? Congo is one, what's the other?

Answer: Timneh

Timnehs are smaller than Congos, they have a light part on their upper mandible, they are darker, and they have maroon tails, as opposed to the Congo's red. If you said "Angola", "Ghana" or "Togo", those aren't subspecies. Those are local variations.

Grif and Kyo are the other two. Zimmy is my grey, who I adopted as a previously-owned bird.

Even at hatching, their heads are very different in appearance.

This is proven to be extremely dangerous and will shorten its lifespan because most commercial seeds are very high in fat. Instead, feed the bird fruit (especially tropical ones like starfruit, but no avocados), vegetables, legumes, and a general healthy "person" diet, excluding excessively fatty foods, chocolate, and avocados. Most birds are lactose intolerant, but occasionally the bird can have a nibble of cheese. Most parrots like cheese.

It should get most of its protein from legumes, beef, eggs, chicken, and fish. For calcium, the bird needs a mineral block or cuttlebone. You can also use bird pellets to supplement the diet.

They are white, with a sort of dark beige around the edges. Some greys don't change though.

About 10 years longer than the Cape, but Capes are newer as pets, so their lifespan hasn't been fully recorded yet.

The weak bill belongs to the Eclectus. Eclectus parrots can bite hard, but I've never seen them break the skin. The Grey has a powerful but small bill that can crack the vinyl in a bird toy.

Answer: First

It is also ranked the highest when it comes to psittacine intelligence, followed by Amazons, cockatoos, and macaws, in that order.
