On July 13, 1981 she stopped by the radio station that she just finished interning for when an assistant program director suggested that she audition for the role in the unknown venture that would become MTV.

He made a call and found out it was the last day of auditions so she hurried down and eventually made the cut as one of the original five VJs.
3. Robert Ludlum published the first in a series of novels that later launched a series of action packed movies, starring Matt Damon in most of them. What was the name of the novel?

4. In September 1986, a Japanese company release a video game console that played games such as "Duck Hunt" and "Super Mario Bros." and within two years it was selling up to seven millions systems a year. Which console was it?

Answer: Nintendo Entertainment System

Nintendo called their foray into video games the Nintendo Entertainment System rather than a video game system in order to differentiate their product from others that had recently failed. By 1990, 30% of American households owned a NES versus 23% owning a home computer.

The NES version of "Super Mario Bros." sold 40 million units worldwide with 29 million being sold in North America.
5. February 23, 1983 saw the American TV audience say goodbye to Margaret, Benjamin and Maxwell in the final episode of what series?

"Goodbye, Farewell and Amen" was the title of the series finale of the long running hit show "M*A*S*H". Margaret "Hot Lips" Houlihan, Benjamin Franklin "Hawkeye" Pierce and Corporal Maxwell Klinger returned from the Korean War under the watchful eye of 121 million viewers, making it the most watched television broadcast up to that time. Commercial time during that episode was more costly than that year's Superbowl.
6. The 1980s saw three different Summer Olympics. Moscow and Los Angeles each hosted one. Which Asian country hosted the third?

Answer: South Korea

The 1980 Olympics were held in Moscow and due to the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan, the United States and 65 other countries boycotted the games. In 1984, Los Angeles hosted and the Soviet Union and thirteen other Eastern Bloc countries boycotted in retaliation for the 1980 boycott.

The 1988 Summer Games were held in Seoul, South Korea and was attended by 159 countries, the most to that date. These games marked the last appearance of the Soviet Union and East Germany because these two countries no longer existed during the 1992 games.

Graham finally figures out the identity of the killer. Without giving away too much of the plot, the serial killer is eventually killed after injuring Graham.

It was originally adapted into a movie named "Manhunter" in 1986 which only had minimal success.

It was redone in 2002 as "Red Dragon" and did much better at the box office.
10. 1987 saw the release of a movie starring Lou Diamond Phillips that told the story of the life and death of rocker Ritchie Valens. What was the name of this musical movie?

Answer: La Bamba

The pilot lost control in a winter storm and crashed killing Valens, along with Buddy Holley and J. P. "The Big Bopper" Richardson. This was also known as the day the music died.
