Fisk's dramatic homerun is one of the most well known moments in baseball. He seemed to will the ball to stay fair, waving his arms as he galloped down the first base line. The Red Sox went on to lose game 7 and the World Series to the Cincinnati Reds, extending their championship drought, which was broken only in 2004 with a dramatic eight game winning streak after dropping the first three games of the American League Championship Series to their hated rivals, the New York Yankees.
