John Lennon was sixteen when he put together a skiffle group. They named themselves "The Blackjacks" but because there was another popular group using that name they changed it to The Quarrymen. Following a couple of other name changes they eventually became The Beatles. When their popularity exploded worldwide many DJs and fan magazines began referring to them as "The Fab Four".
