Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The ghost of the Brown Lady was famously photographed descending a flight of stairs in 1936. Where would one travel to if they wanted to catch a glimpse of this ghost?

Answer: Raynham Hall in Norfolk, England

The Brown Lady of Raynham Hall is commonly believed to be of Dorothy Walpole. Dorothy was born in 1686 and died (most likely of smallpox) in Raynham Hall in 1726. She was married to Charles Townshend, who, after finding out she had had an affair, is said to have locked her in a room for nearly the rest of her life. She is called the Brown Lady because she appears to wear a brown brocade dress.

In 1936, two photographers, Hubert C. Provand and Indre Shira, were taking pictures of Raynham Hall for "Country Life" magazine. While photographing the staircase, they noticed a vapory figure coming down the stairs and captured it on film. Many people believe the photo is genuine. But, like in any case like this, there are some critics.
2. In Stowe, Vermont there is said to be a young ghost girl living on a bridge. What name has been given to this ghost?

Answer: Emily

The Gold Brook Bridge is a covered bridge in Stowe, Vermont. It is commonly called Emily's Bridge because a ghost with that name is known to haunt it. The Emily ghost was first heard of in 1968 from a high school student who used a Ouija board on the bridge. There are many stories about who Emily was and how she died, but there is no historical evidence to prove them true.

Many people have claimed to experience paranormal activity on the bridge, such as scratches on themselves and their cars and strange noises. Some have also claimed to have seen Emily. Most of the activity is reported to have happened between midnight and three in the morning.
3. Frederick Baker, whose stage name was Frederick Federici, died of a heart attack on stage at the end of an opera in 1888. In what Australian theatre is his ghost often spotted in?

Answer: Princess Theatre

Princess Theatre is located in Melbourne, Australia. It was opened in 1857.

The opera singer, Frederick Baker, is said to haunt the building since his death in 1888. While descending through a trapdoor at the end of the opera "Faust", he suffered a heart attack and died shortly after. His ghost has been seen by many people. He is often reported to be wearing the costume he had on when he died.
4. The ghost of Anne Boleyn, the second wife of King Henry VIII, has been seen in many places throughout England, especially in the Tower of London were she died. How did she die?

Answer: She was beheaded.

Anne Boleyn was born in 1501. She was the Queen of England from 1533, when she married Henry VIII, until her death in 1536.

Because Anne was unable to have a baby boy, her husband charged her with adultery, treason, and witchcraft. In reality, though, the king just wanted to marry Jane Seymour and couldn't with Anne still alive. She was arrested and kept in the Tower of London until her execution on May 19.

People have reported seeing Anne's ghost in Hever Castle, Blickling Hall, The Tower of London, Hampton Court Palace, Windsor Castle, Salle Church, and Marwell Hall. Sometimes she is seen with her head attached and other times with it tucked under her arm.
5. Dragsholm Castle in Denmark is said to be home to three ghosts, the Grey Lady, the White Lady, and which of these people?

Answer: James Hepburn, 4th Earl of Bothwell

James Hepburn, 4th Earl of Bothwell was born in 1534. He was married three times, to Anna Throndsen, Lady Jean Gordon, and Mary, Queen of Scots. He was held prisoner in Dragsholm Castle for the last few years of his life for a few reasons, such as being a suspect in a murder. He allegedly went insane there. He died in Dragsholm Castle in 1578. His ghost is often seen driving a horse and carriage in the courtyard.
