"Psych" is my favorite show of all time. I have literally seen every episode at least eight times. Eventually, I decided to create a list of things that I learned just by watching it. This list rose to 450 items. Here are ten of them.

Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Felis concolor is the scientific name that describes what animal?

Answer: Cougar

A cougar (A.K.A. panther, puma, or mountain lion depending on the region) had been accused of a pair of murders in the episode "Forget Me Not". The main character Shawn and his partner Gus had to track down the cougar in order to prove that people were behind the murders.
2. Ibiza is an island that is part of Spain, but what island chain is it a part of?

Answer: Balearic Islands

Ibiza (pronounced "Ibeetha") is the third largest Balearic Island. Shawn mentions possibly buying a plane ticket there with his poker winnings in the episode "Poker? I Barely Know Her!" However, he ended up wasting the money gambling.
3. Rickets is the weakening of bones in children, usually caused by the deficiency of what vitamin?

Answer: Vitamin D

Although cases of Rickets are rare, people can try to prevent it by getting a lot of sunlight (and thus, Vitamin D). Rickets is first mentioned in the episode "If You're So Smart Then Why Are You Dead."
4. Ghee is a type of what food originating in India, now currently used in multiple South Asian dishes?

Answer: Butter

You could make this connection in the episode titled "You Can't Handle This Episode". In it, Shawn introduces Gus as "my attaché Ghee Buttersnaps, A.K.A. The Heater". Gus is referred to as Ghee Buttersnaps at a couple of other points in the episode, as well as once (jokingly) in the episode "Death Is in the Air".
5. If you are visiting South America and somebody there calls you "che", what country are you likely visiting?

Answer: Argentina

"Che" is Argentinean slang which means "buddy" or "pal". We can learn this in the episode "Greatest Adventure in the History of Basic Cable".
6. If you are a ferroequinologist, what do you enjoy studying?

Answer: Trains

We learn this in the episode "An Evening with Mr. Yang", when Gus and criminal psychologist (and expert on the patterns of the killer, Mr. Yang) Mary Lightly admit they are both ferroequinologists. We also learn that "Black Snake" is slang for a coal train, and a tender is a type of train car.
7. If you are visiting Vaduz, you are visiting a city in what tiny European country?

Answer: Liechtenstein

Shawn asks about this capital city when he is questioning a suspect in "We'd Like to Thank the Academy". He first tells the suspect that he's there to ask the tough questions, and then asks who the suspect is. The suspect gives Shawn his name and says "That wasn't very tough," to which Shawn responds, "I like to ease my way in. What's the capital of Liechtenstein?"
8. What former MLB player, known for owning the National League record for consecutive games played, was known as Mr. Clean because of his clean public image?

Answer: Steve Garvey

Garvey, Carew, and Boggs are all mentioned in "Dead Man's Curveball", which (as the title suggests) is an episode centered around baseball. Boggs actually makes a guest appearance on the show. Cal Ripken, though he played more consecutive games, holds the American League record, not the National League record.
9. Tritium is a radioactive isotope of what basic element?

Answer: Hydrogen

Tritium's most common uses are in self-powered lighting and nuclear weapons. It is referenced in "Cirque du Soul", as a team of thieves breaks into certain areas which contain it, in an effort to steal it.
10. What band's first album, released in 2002, was titled "Songs About Jane"?

Answer: Maroon 5

Shawn references this in the episode "Nip and Suck It", when he pretends to be his father in a phone call in order to get information. He mentions how he hasn't "felt the touch of a woman since the first Maroon 5 album came out".
