Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Phoenix, Arizona is a well-known city in America's southwest. Which mountainous Canadian province also once had a place named Phoenix?

Answer: British Columbia

Phoenix, BC, near the southern border of the province, was once known as the copper city of Canada. In the early 20th century, the town was booming because the copper that was mined in the area was used during World War One. The mine stopped operations in 1919, and the population of the town fell very quickly. Phoenix, BC became a ghost town.

By the turn of the 21st century, all that remained of the former boomtown was the pioneer cemetery and the WWI Cenotaph, as the buildings had either been moved or destroyed over the years.
2. Which place, important during the famous Revolutionary tea party, also appears on Ontario maps?

Answer: Boston

Answer: 3

There are three cities named London in America, located in Ohio, Arkansas and in Kentucky. However, in the second decade of the 21st century, there are also 14 "unincorporated communities" named London around the country, and one census-designated place called London in California. This brings the number of American Londons to 18 when the non-cities are counted.
