1. Where would you find the Millennium Wheel?

Answer: London

Also known as the London Eye, from the top you can see as far as Buckingham Palace and way down the Thames. It actually travels a lot faster than you would think!
2. Most people have heard of the Loch Ness monster, but at which Scottish town/city does Loch Ness join the North Sea?

Answer: Inverness

Fort Augustus is the charming little town at the other end of Loch Ness. It has a topiary model of Nessie and her baby.
3. Which city have recent 2004/5 statistics shown to be the safest city in the UK?

Answer: Sheffield

Sheffield is a lovely city- almost like a very large village. It should be noted here that statistics are almost always incorrect, but it is a great place and it does feel a lot safer than other cities like Manchester or Liverpool, especially at night!
4. In which city is Old Trafford?

Answer: Manchester

Old Trafford is the home of Manchester United Football team... a large, fairly impressive stadium.
5. Where is the William Wallace monument?

Answer: Stirling

William Wallace was executed by the English for helping to lead the Scottish rebels against them in the time of Robert the Bruce. For the 'mediafied' version, watch Braveheart, a great film if a little historically inaccurate.
6. Near which city would you find Spaghetti Junction?

Answer: Birmingham

This is the infamous largest and most complicated motorway junction in the UK, so named because from above it looks like a tangled up plate of spaghetti!
7. Where is Cleopatra's needle?

Answer: London

It was dragged by boat all the way from Egypt- it is one of a pair, the matching one is still in Eygpt.
8. Which city is associated with the Mersey Ferries?

Answer: Liverpool

There are normally two Mersey ferries in operation at once. They travel on a round trip from the Wirral across the Mersey to Liverpool. Originally intended for commuters, they are now World famous and almost solely used by sightseers and tourists. Famous Liverpool band Gerry and the Pacemakers sang 'Ferry cross the Mersey' They also sang the Liverpool football club anthem, 'You'll never walk alone'
9. The rowing teams of which two UK universities hold a famous traditional annual race?

Answer: Oxford & Cambridge

These two universities are the oldest universities in the UK and near enough the oldest in the world. Competitors in this event are known as 'blues' because their team colours are both blue. Oxford is dark blue and Cambridge is light blue.
10. Where in London is the Christmas tree displayed that is given to the City of London every year by the Norwegians?

Answer: Trafalgar Square

Trafalgar Square commemorates the English victory over Napoleon, commanding the Franco-Spanish fleet at Trafalgar, southern Spain. There is a statue on top of a tall column of the commander of the English Navy at that time, Admiral Lord Nelson.
