The game is for two players aged 12 and over and it is played as a best of three rounds competition. The winner of each round receives a "Seal of Excellence" token.
3. Does the game "Jaipur" use dice?

Answer: No

"Jaipur" is purely a card game. It does not use dice and it is not played on a board.
4. In the game "Jaipur" the players, also called merchants, collect and exchange goods before selling them to the market. What form do these goods take?

Answer: Cards

There are six types of goods which are: Diamonds, gold, silver, cloth, spice and leather. These can be sold in the market for rupees. There are six cards each for diamonds, gold and silver, eight each of cloth and spice and ten for leather.
5. In the game "Jaipur" the goods tokens have a rupee value which is printed both at the back, with large font type, and at the front with a very small font type. From the below list can you guess which is the most valuable of the goods?

Answer: Diamonds

There are five tokens available for each "valuable" commodity. Diamonds are the most valuable of the goods. The first two are worth seven rupees and the other three five. For gold, the first two are worth six rupees and the rest five and for silver all five tokens are worth five rupees. There are seven tokens for cloth and spice and nine tokens for leather.
6. In the game "Jaipur" there are also some animals which are used in the exchange of goods. What kind of beast of burden is used?

Answer: Camel

There are 11 camel cards. These cards bear no value at all but are used in exchanging other goods. When a player gets camel cards, either because he initially was dealt with some, or when he decides to take them all he places them face down in front of him. This constitutes the player's herd.
7. In the game "Jaipur" each player is allowed to hold in his hand a specific number of cards. What wondrous number is it?

Answer: 7

Each player is allowed to hold a maximum of seven cards. The player reduces the number of cards in his hand by selling them and getting rupees.
8. In the game "Jaipur" each player is allowed on his turn to either take cards or sell cards. When taking cards the player has three options. Which is not a valid option?

Answer: Take one camel and one good

You can take a single good from the table, provided that you do not already hold seven, and replace it with the top card from the deck.
You can take several goods and exchange them with the same number of cards. The returned cards can be camels, goods or a mixture.
You can take all the camels that are laid down and replace them with an equal number of cards from the deck.
9. In the game "Jaipur" a player on his turn elects to sell goods. The sale is done in three steps. Which of these is not a valid step?

Answer: Sell various goods at the same time

You are only allowed to sell one type of goods. You cannot mix and match. You exchange the number of cards that you sell by the tokens that are on the top of the pile. If you sell three, four or five cards you also get a corresponding bonus token. The value of the bonus token is between eight and ten when you sell five goods, between four and six if you sell four goods and between one and three if you sell three goods.
10. In the game "Jaipur" a round ends when which of the following occurs?

Answer: Three types of goods tokens are exhausted

When three of the stacks are depleted the game ends. This allows the players to strategically end the game at a point that is more suitable to them. The winner of the round is the player that has amassed the most rupees. There is an additional five rupee bonus for the player that has the largest herd of camels.

When the deck of cards is depleted the cards that were sold are shuffled and place down as the new deck.
