Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What is the minimum to maximum number of people allowed in a winterguard that wants to compete?

Answer: 6 min- 30 max

This is a rule although it may be waived by the DCUK referee.

They must also have adequate speakers, and have to be tested before the performance.
3. What is the maximum amount of time on the floor alloted for both the cadet and junior classes?

Answer: 7 minutes

Both classes have no minimum amount of time.
4. Is this a real rule?: All rifles must be simulated.

Yes it is actually a real rule, and the same rule applies to sabers and they must also be rendered safe.
5. How many points are taken off if the national colours are dropped in a performance?

Answer: 1

The national colours must be treated with dignity and respect at all times, and may not be used for display purposes.
6. If you drop a piece of equipment you may not pick it up but must pretend to have the equipment or face a point penalty.

Answer: false

That is so not true. If you drop your flag/rifle/saber you may retrieve it without receiving a penalty.
7. Are pyrotechnics allowed in a performance?

Answer: No

Pyrotechnics, animals, pressured canisters, smoke or dry ice machines, and electrical or battery operated equipment are not allowed in a performance.
8. The minimum size of a ______ is 8" x 12".

Answer: flag

The material must be at least that size with a pole length of at least two feet.
9. If a guard has problems with their cassette tape or CD in their performance they are given a chance to do what?

Answer: Withdraw and compete later.

It is included in the rules so as to give all of the guards a fair chance. If the tape or CD does not work in practice however it is up to the guard to have working music by their performance time.
10. Guard members are directed not to aproach the spectator seats during a performance because it is rude to the spectators and to the performing guard.

Answer: True

Makes sense doesn't it? The spectators are there to watch the guards not the guard members that are in the spectator seating. Hope you enjoyed my quiz!
