Elizabeth Coatsworth was an American children's author. She wrote many stories with animals as the stars. Her book 'Bess and the Sphinx' was thought to be a biography of her early life. 'The Cat Who Went to Heaven' won her the Newbery Medal in 1931. She was over 90 years old when she died.
6. Who never made it into "Old Possum's book of Practical Cats"?

Some of the ideas have been used in the musical 'Cats' by Andrew Lloyd Webber.

Answer: Edgar Allan Poe

In real life Edgar and his wife had a cat called Catterina. Many people think it must have been 'A Black Cat' as in the story that he wrote, but it was in fact a tortoiseshell. He also wrote about 'The Raven'. He is remembered as one of the great American writers in world literature.
10. 'The Nine Lives of Montezuma,' was the title of a work by a children's author. Who wrote it?

Answer: Michael Morpurgo
