Jason Chaser and his brother, The Bug, were brought up by their adoptive parents, Martha and Henry Chaser, in Halls Creek, WA. Jason is the pilot for his hovercar, the Argonaut, with his 12 year old brother The Bug as the navigator.

The Argonaut was painted blue and silver, and has the number 55 and the wings. Sally McDuff, Jason's mech chief, says "Hell, I even like the paint job".

Answer: Xavier Xonora

Xonora, or Prince Xavier, won the first three races of the year driving his black Lockheed-Martin, emblazoned with a white number 1 on the side. Xavier easily wins the whole competition for the year and goes with Jason to race in the Italian Run.

A super-enduro is the longest type of race there is, with each lap taking a very long time. With super-eduro's, each racer can still come back and win even if a long way behind. Gate races are Jason and The Bug's speciality. A gate race usually consists of over 200 gates, with the object being to go through as many as possible and return to the finish line inside the time limit. Gates further from the start are worth more points.

A supersprint is a super fast race, gererally with the last racer eliminated every few laps.

The Ferrari F-3000, known as the Argonaut II, gets destroyed in the Italian Run after spinning out of control.

6. What is it called when a racer takes the short cut in the Italian Run?

Answer: Cutting the Heel

The short in the Italian Run cus through the 'heel' in the boot of Italy, hence the name. Scott Syracuse famously tried Cutting the Heel in the Italian Run, and appeared to get lost for 4 hours before getting out. What he was actually doing was researching for the next year, but unfortunately he had a bad accident a few weeks later and never raced again.

Answer: Barnaby Becker

The Bug leapt out of the damaged Argonaut, and ran with the steering wheel. A few seconds before, Becker had crashed into them on purose, damaging both hovercars. Unfortunately, Becker's car was okay, and he raced The Bug to the finish line. The photo finish saw The Bug diving across the finish line, just beating Becker.

8. Jason had to beat Xavier in a race to get into the New York masters. What part of Xavier's racing was his weakness?

Answer: Celebrating

Jason managed to beat Xavier because Xavier always celebrated before he had won the race. Jason kept behind him where Xavier couldn't see him, then boosted past him to win the race.

9. The last race of the New York Masters was known as The Quest. What did the racers have to collect?

Answer: An object of their choice

Jason had to collect golden fleece, and race back to the start. The Quest took place through the famous Twin Caves, the largest underground caverns in the world.

Answer: By ejecting across the line

The Argonaut had a small explosive attatced to the rear fin, which detonated right near the end of the race. As the hovercar rolled, Jason ejected sideways over the finish line, to just win the race, one of the four Grand Slams. Jason was only 15 years old when he won.
