Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Let's make the first one easy. 'I'll look to like, if looking liking move. But no more deep will I endart mine eye than your consent gives strength to make it fly.' Who said it?

Answer: Juliet

Juliet says these lines when her mother asks, 'Speak briefly. Can you like of Paris' love?' This is the first act, so naturally Juliet still does only what her parents tell her. That changes, however, as you know.
2. 'I dreamt a dream tonight' Who said it?

Answer: Romeo

When Mercutio asks Romeo why he doesn't think it is wise to go to the Capulet's ball, his explaination is, 'I dreamt a dream tonight'. We never find out what he dreamed, however.
3. 'We will have vengeance for it, fear thou not.' Who said it?

Answer: Lady Capulet

When Juliet tells her mother that only she can kill Romeo to revenge Tybalt's death (all the while plotting to save her husband), her mother assures her that 'We will have vengeance for it, fear thou not.'
4. 'I'll have this knot knit up tomorrow.' Who said it?

Answer: Capulet

Capulet says this after Juliet tells him that she will obey him and marry Paris.
5. 'And let mischance be slave to patience---Bring forth the parties of suspicion.' Who said it?

Answer: Prince

After Romeo and Juliet kill themselves, Prince conducts an interrogation of everyone involved.
6. 'I am no pilot' Who said it?

Answer: Romeo

When Romeo and Juliet are talking, Romeo mentions that he is 'no pilot' but would sail around the world to reach her.
7. 'It argues a distempered head So soon to bid 'good morrow' to thy bed.' Who said it?

Answer: Friar Laurence

When Romeo comes to see Friar Laurence to ask him to marry him and Juliet, Friar Laurence chides him from rising too early (then for not going to bed at all).
8. 'That gallant spirit hath aspired the clouds, Which too untimely here did scorn the earth.'

Answer: Benvolio

Well, it can't be Mercutio, because that's the 'gallant spirit' that Benvolio is talking about. And it's not any of the others.
9. 'I am a pretty piece of flesh.' Who said it?

Answer: Sampson

One of the first lines in the play, Sampson tells Gregory that he is a 'pretty piece of flesh.' What an egomaniac!
10. 'Thou talk'st of nothing.' Who said it?

Answer: Romeo

Romeo says this to Mercutio after his Queen Mab speech.
