Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The main character Emily has to move to England for a year with her family because of her father's work. What is the name of the friend who she e-mails throughout the book?

Answer: Dru

The book is actually written as a series of e-mails back and forth between Dru and Emily. It's an interesting way to write a book, and makes the book easy to read because it allows the author to write in "real" language, and include a lot of slang.
2. What is the name of the suburb of London where Emily and her family live?

Answer: Piddlington-On-The-Weld

The first time Emily sees the street sign she can't quite believe that she is living in a place with such a name! Names she refers to the town by include: Piddlesville, Piddle City, Piddling-On-The-Wheel, and Weewee-On-The-Weld. Very humourous!
3. What drawer of her dresser does Emily insist is haunted?

Answer: underwear drawer

Nearly every time Emily comes into her room she finds her underwear and bras scattered about. She tries many methods to catch or stop the ghost but nothing ever seems to work.
4. What are Emily's two school colors?

Answer: Maroon and Teal

Emily VEHEMENTLY protests having to wear her uniform. On top of that she is not allowed to wear most of her makeup or jewelry or tie her tie in a bow, per the school dress code. Poor Emily!
5. What is the name of the guy Emily pursues throughout the book and then ends up humiliating at the halloween dance?

Answer: Aidan

Aidan turns out to be quite the player when it comes to women. He's the Dean of her father's university and acts quite innocent around the parents and poor Emily almost falls for it, time and again, but finally learns at the end who she can really trust.
6. What kind of dance does Emily organize at her school?

Answer: Halloween Dance

She puts on a smashing goth Halloween dance, complete with a smoke machine and lots of leather and studs. Unfortunately, she kind of ends up ruining it too...you'll have to read the book to find out how...
7. What is Emily's father's unusual nickname?

Answer: Brother

She says that even her mother and grandmother call him Brother, because he hates his real name. Emily calls him various things, including "Unibrow". Haha!!
8. What is the common nick-name for Emily's school?

Answer: Gob-botty

The actual name of her school is Gobottle, but the students all call it Gob-botty, which means butt-mouth when loosely translated. How nice. She is in the fifth form there, although she should be in the sixth. This is only one of the things that sets her off during the book!
9. Who is the celebrity that Emily is obsessed with and tries to meet on a movie set?

Answer: Oded

I'm not sure who Oded is, or if he's even a real person, but she is certainly obsessed with him! She and her new friend Holly skip out of school early several days in a row to ride their bikes to the set of his newest movie to try to see him. Alas, they do not succeed.
10. Here's a tricky question for the last one: The book is written in the form of e-mail correspondence. Emily's e-mail address is Mrs.Oded@______________ Complete the rest of her address.

Answer: btelecom.co.uk

A very tricky question indeed. Her e-mail address is one of the first things she complains about in the book. I hope you've enjoyed this quiz!
