Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In the beginning of "Snow White and the Huntsman", Snow White's evil stepmother, Queen Ravenna, is introduced. Which relation of Snow White falls prey to the sorceress's charms?

Answer: King Magnus

Snow White grows up in the kingdom of Tabor, which is ruled by her father, King Magnus. Soon after the Queen dies, Tabor is invaded by soldiers who are formed from glass by magic. King Magnus defeats the army and rescues a prisoner, Ravenna.

Infatuated with her beauty, the king marries her. However, Ravenna turns out to be an evil sorceress. She stabs Magnus to the heart, then proceeds to take over the castle, and then the kingdom, this time with human soldiers.

Snow White is captured and imprisoned in the castle, and Tabor becomes a wasteland.

Ravenna is potrayed by Charlize Theron, who is known for her roles in films such as "Monster" and "North Country".
2. When the mirror informs Ravenna that Snow White will be both her downfall and salvation, she sends Finn to bring the princess. What happens next in "Snow White and the Huntsman"?

Answer: Snow White escapes by herself.

Due to a spell, Ravenna replenishes her beauty and strengthens her powers by absorbing youth from beautiful women and girls. After one such feeding, she asks her mirror who the fairest of them all is. The mirror replies that Snow White's beauty has surpassed her, and tells her that the princess' heart will grant her eternal youth, beauty, and power.

By now, Snow White has grown from a pretty child to a beautiful young woman.

Ravenna sends her brother, Finn, to bring her the princess. Finn takes his time about it, and Snow White stabs him with a nail and runs, fleeing the castle by means of a drain. She continues on, and finds herself entangled in the branches of the Dark Forest, a place with its own powers of dark magic.

Kristen Stewart, an actress of "Twilight" fame, was chosen for the part of Snow White.
3. In "Snow White and the Huntsman", when Snow White vanishes into the ill-reputed Dark Forest, which person who has been there before does Ravenna send after her?

Answer: Eric

After thoroughly upbraiding Finn, Ravenna declares she needs someone who knows the forest. The Huntsman, Eric, is dragged before her after being found drunk and unconscious. More afraid of the forest than Ravenna, he finally agrees when Ravenna reveals that she can raise the dead, and offers to bring back his wife.

In the forest, Eric holds Snow White as surety until Ravenna upholds her end of the bargain. Finn contemptuously replies that despite having many powers, his sister cannot reverse the way of life. Furious, Eric knocks him into a pool and leaves.

Using the promise of a reward, Snow White entices Eric into leading her to the castle of a subject still opposed to Ravenna, Duke Hammond. Unaware of her lineage, and still distrustful, Eric grudgingly agrees.

Widely acclaimed for starring as Thor in the films based on the Marvel comics, Chris Hemsworth stars as the Hunstman.
4. On hearing that Show White has escaped the castle, William, her childhood playmate, goes to find her. Why is he still alive, and not killed when Ravenna seized power near the beginning of "Snow White and the Huntsman"?

Answer: He escaped.

During the wild confusion that prevailed as Ravenna took over the castle, William and many others escaped with Duke Hammond, William's father. Snow White almost made it out with them, but was caught.

From then on, Duke Hammond established his castle as a sanctuary for all who fled from Ravenna. Two of his men were captured when raiding, and one of them returned to the duke, having witnessed Snow White's escape.

As soon as he hears that his beloved princess is alive, William impetuously goes after her. He attaches himself to Finn, having learnt that Finn was going after Snow White.

Known for acting in "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" as the handsome missionary, Philip, Sam Claflin portrays William.
5. The two title characters of "Snow White and the Huntsman" travel to a village of women where Finn and William catch up with them. They flee and are caught by whom?

Answer: Dwarves

Princess and protector after some adventures reach a small village. It is populated only by women. They have remained unmolested by Ravenna because they mutilated their faces, knowing that without beauty they are useless to the Queen.

After learning that Snow White is the late king's daughter, Eric leaves, declaring that her status makes it all the more necessary that she not stay with him. He tells one of the village women that he lost all he ever cared about and does not want that to happen to Snow White, basically admitting that he cares about the princess.

However, when Eric sees the conflagration of the village as Finn and his men attack, he returns to save Snow White. They run, and fall into an ambush laid by seven dwarves.
6. During "Snow White and the Huntsman", Snow White and her protectors enter a fairyland, where Finn, William, and his henchmen find them. In the ensuing battle, who die?

Answer: Finn and Gus

The dwarves are on the verge of slaying both Eric and Snow White when they find out that she is the princess. Then, they hide the two of them from Finn by leading them into the land of the fairies.

Snow White converses with Muir, the eldest dwarf, learning about their life under Ravenna's shadow. She also dances with Gus, who seems to like her a lot. The dwarves realize that their ailments have been healed by merely being with Snow White.

The next day, Finn and his men appear and attack. Eric takes on Finn, but is beaten down. Finn gloats as he tells Eric that he was the one who killed Sarah, Eric's wife. In a fury, Eric turns the tables, impales Finn on a tree and chokes him, effectually killing him. William chases Snow White, and reveals himself to her. A bowman shoots at the princess, but Gus interposes his body and dies.
7. In "Snow White and the Huntsman", how does Ravenna trick Snow White into eating the fatal apple?

Answer: She morphs into William's likeness.

After Gus' funeral, the dwarves, William, Eric, and Snow White journey on and camp for the night. Snow White wakes early and goes for a walk, when she meets William. He tries to persuade her to fight for her throne by raising her banner and calling her people. Snow White doubts her ability. They share a sweet moment.

William suddenly produces an apple, and Snow White takes a bite. She instantly goes into convulsions and spasms uncontrollably from pain. "William" muses that love always betrays, before morphing back into Ravenna.

However, Eric and the real William rush to the rescue, and Ravenna flies back to the castle in the shape of ravens. The damage is done, though, and despite William's attempts, Snow White lies died.
8. Whose kiss revives Snow White in the film "Snow White and the Huntsman"?

Answer: Eric's

Snow White's friends carry her to Duke Hammond's castle. Eric visits her and pours out his heart, speaking of his wife, how she changed him, and how badly her death affected him. He then says that Snow White was like her, and, too, had changed him for better. He blames himself for their deaths, and apologizes. Eric kisses her before leaving, not realizing that some tears have slid from her eyes.

The kiss breaks the spell, and Snow White opens her eyes, alive.
9. Alive again, what does Snow White do, leading to the final battle in "Snow White and the Huntsman"?

Answer: She attacks Ravenna's castle.

While Snow White lies dead, William forcefully argues with his father, trying to persuade him to march against Ravenna. Duke Hammond refuses.

They are interrupted by Snow White's appearance. Recalling that Ravenna said she could only have been defeated by fairest blood, Snow White realizes that she alone can kill the sorceress and save her land. She lights the embers of resistance within the people in the duke's castle, and one and all willingly ride with her against Ravenna. Eric watches happily and rides with the army.

Meanwhile, Ravenna strengthens herself and prepares for the assault, knowing well that Snow White will come for her.
10. In the final showdown of "Snow White and the Huntsman", who dies?

Answer: Ravenna

On realizing that the castle cannot be entered by normal assault, Snow White sends the dwarves in through the culvert she escaped out of. They sneak to the gate and manage to open it. Although seriously outnumbered and assailed by Ravenna's real and glass armies, Snow White's men charge into the castle. The princess, along with William, Eric, and some soldiers rush up to the tower where Ravenna is. Ravenna easily defeats Snow White and gloatingly forces her to watch her followers despairingly battle the glass monsters.

Snow White, however, had learnt a move from Eric, and she stabs Ravenna to death. By fairest blood is the spell undone, and Ravenna's powers fail. Snow White and her triumphant army recapture her castle. Snow White is crowned queen and the land is healed from the hurt and destruction it suffered. The Huntsman enters the hall after her coronation, and Snow White greets him with a smile.
