Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What did Immortan Joe release to his people in a very limited amount?

Answer: Water

Immortan Joe was a warlord and leader of the War Boys. He held the water supply for his people in strict reserve. He called the water his Aqua Cola. He was giving a speech to his people in regards to his war rig heading out for supplies. The drought stricken people anxiously awaited for Joe to release the water. Joe did release some water to the people, but not nearly as much as they would need to survive.

He told them, as he closed off the pipes, not to become addicted to the water as they would resent it in its absence.
2. Why did Immortan Joe's wives leave him?

Answer: The wives did not want to raise their babies as War Boys.

Joe referred to his five wives as his property. They were all fastened with chastity belts so nobody could be with them but Joe. The wives, according to Miss Giddy their caretaker, had begged Imperator Furiosa to take them away. They were tired of being referred to as property.

As Joe entered the vault he kept the wives in, he saw a message written on the floor. The message read that the wive's babies would not be War Boys. There was a second message as well it read 'We are not property'. Joe was enraged and immediately set out his War Boys to obtain and return his property.
3. How did War Boy, Nux, refer to Max?

Answer: Blood Bag

Max was a prisoner of Immortan Joe and his War Boys. His blood type was O Negative making him a universal donor. The Organic Mechanic ordered Max to be hooked up to Nux. Nux was ill and in need of a blood transfusion. There was a commotion and all the War Boys started to race in and collect their steering wheels. Nux wanted to know what all the commotion was about.

His Lancer told him that Imperator Furiosa had committed treason and kidnapped the wives. Nux told the Organic Mechanic to hook his Blood Bag to the front of his vehicle. Even after Max and Nux started working together to save the wives, Nux still called him Blood Bag.
4. Where was Imperator Furiosa taking Immortan Joe's wives?

Answer: The Green Place

Furiosa was taking the wives to her home. Furiosa and her mother were kidnapped when Furiosa was a young girl. Furiosa's mother had died three days after they were taken. Furiosa referred to her home as The Green Place of All Mothers. The wives were excited to be free of the tyranny of Immortan Joe. Once Furiosa arrived at her home, she was saddened to find out it was now no longer livable.

The surviving members of her tribe told her the water had gone bad and nothing would grow anymore. Max talked Furiosa into returning to Immortan Joe's Citadel and taking over.

The Citadel had an ample supply of water and it was flourishing.
5. What were the War Boys who fought on poles called?

Answer: Pole Cats

Pole Cats were War Boys who were on the end of long, flexible, counter-weighted poles. They would use the poles to drop explosives onto their enemies and then quickly jump back. The Pole Cats were even successful in getting one of Immortan Joe's wives back. Another Pole Cat jumped into the rig and was able to stab Furiosa in the side. Max also used one of the poles to get into and take over the vehicle of the People Eater.

This was one of the highlights of the movie for me. The way the War Boys would bounce back and forth between cars was amazing. All War Boys have an enthusiastic disposition towards war and carnage. The Pole Cats were, in my opinion, just a little more zealous when they hurt or blew someone or something up.
6. Where did the War Boys believe they went to when they died?

Answer: Valhalla

While Immortan Joe was giving his speech, he mentioned Valhalla. All the War Boys started chanting, "V-8". This was their way of saying Valhalla. Joe had all his War Boys believing that when they died they would goto Valhalla. I don't think that any War Boy was as convinced as Nux. He was determined to do Joe's bidding without question. Nux was convinced he would be born again because of his heroic deeds.

In one scene, Joe asked Nux to join him in his vehicle to help return his wives. Joe told Nux if he succeeded he would personally carry him into Valhalla. Nux was asked to shoot Furiosa in the back of the head by Joe. Nux attempted to mount Furiosa's war rig. He stumbled and dropped the gun on his landing. Joe looked at Nux and called him mediocre. Joe drove off while Nux hid in the back of the rig, sobbing.
7. What was the name of Nux's lancer?

Answer: Slit

We first saw Slit when he was attempting to take Nux's steering wheel. Nux told Slit he was the driver and Slit was his Lancer. Slit told Nux that he had just promoted himself. Nux was hooked to Max and receiving a transfusion. Slit told Nux he was in no condition to drive let alone fight. The two men fought briefly with Nux knocking Slit down with a head butt. Slit grinned at this and both men drove off together.

Slit was there when Nux was asked to ride with Joe. Nux had returned with a piece of fabric from one of the wives. Slit yelled out he had the boot of the Blood Bag, but it was not acknowledged by Immortan Joe.
8. How did The People Eater die?

Answer: Immortan Joe shot him while aiming at Max.

Max had landed in the car of one of the main bosses, The People Eater. He was a bald rotund man. His feet were filled with tumors. He dressed as a professional, minus the shoes and the two holes in his shirt. He had some kind of metal cage covering his nose as well. Max was able to overtake The People Eater and his car. Immortan Joe pulled up beside People's car to shoot Max. Max used the People Eater as a shield. Joe shot the People Eater several times, including once in the eye.

The People Eater was the boss of Gasoline Town. Furiosa was supposed to drop off produce to them and get gasoline in trade. The People Eater and the boss of Bullet Town both willingly joined Immortan Joe in his crusade to get his property back.
9. Which one of her limbs was Furiosa missing?

Answer: Left Arm

Imperator Furiosa was one of Immortan Joe's most trusted lieutenants. She was designated with the honor of driving his war rig. Furiosa was kidnapped by Immortan Joe as a young girl for breeding purposes. She was found to be infertile and thus discarded. It is never revealed how or why she lost her left arm. It did not stop her from doing anything however. She was fully capable of driving the war rig. She also held her own in a fight with both Max and Nux.

Charlize Theron played the role of Imperator Furiosa. It was clear she was searching for redemption by helping the wives escape. She was battle scarred and rough around the edges, but still cared deeply for the wives. Charlize did an amazing job in this film.
10. What is the tagline for the film?

Answer: What A Lovely Day.

Nux actually spoke the tagine while he was driving in the sand storm in the desert. He was so excited about it, he said it twice. Nux was looking to capture Furiosa and the wives and be seen as a hero by Immortan Joe. It did not work out that way; it turned out better.

It was clear Nux and Toast, one of Joe's wives were falling for each other. Toast witnessed Nux final act of bravery before he died. War Boys craved the validation of their actions by having someone witness it.
