Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Who played the Scottish author Sir J.M Barrie and Sylvia Llewelyn-Davies in the film?

Answer: Johnny Depp and Kate Winslet

Dustin Hoffman plays Mr. Charles Frohman, who is the financier for J.M Barrie's plays, and Julie Christie plays Mrs. Emma du Maurier, who is Sylvia's mother.
Some other actors in the film are Radha Mitchell, who plays Mr Barrie's wife, and Freddie Highmore who plays Peter Llewelyn-Davies.
2. What quote from the movie fills in the blank? "You can visit Neverland anytime you like". "How?" "By believing Peter, ______"

Answer: Just Believe

This is the very last scene in 'Finding Neverland', and Freddie Highmore plays his character very well here. He is extremely upset because his mother has just passed away, and he wants to know how he can see her again. J.M. Barrie is comforting him and uses 'believing', which is the main point of the movie.
3. When J.M. Barrie's play of 'Peter Pan' is getting ready to be performed on stage, Mr. Frohman is having second thoughts about whether the formal people who usually attend the plays will enjoy seeing fairies and Indians. This sparks another marvelous idea from J.M. Barrie. What is it?

Answer: To invite 25 orphans to enjoy the show

Without the orphans coming along to the play, 'Peter Pan' may not have been as big of a success as it is today. The children were so amazed and thrilled by the performance, that it loosened up the higher class audience, and they enjoyed it more.
4. In one of the last scenes, where Mr. Barrie brings the 'Peter Pan' play to Sylvia's home, Emma Du Maurier (Julie Christie) starts clapping when Peter Pan asks them to clap if they belive in fairies. Julie Christie didn't know what to do in this scene so she just started clapping, the boys were shocked that Julie had started clapping, so the reaction on their faces was real.

Answer: True

I found this in the goofs section of IMDB which really made me laugh. It all looks really real and I found it quite good because it shows that the play of 'Peter Pan' has not only loosened up the mood of the higher class people at the first production, but also of Emma Du Maurier.
5. When Mr. Barrie first meets the Llewelyn-Davies boys in the park, Michael is lying underneath a bench. Michael tells Mr. Barrie he has been kidnapped by the evil Prince George. When Mr. Barrie asks George as to why Michael has been imprisoned, what is his reply?

Answer: "He's my younger brother"

Michael is the youngest of the Llewelyn-Davies boys and I thought it was really sweet that the writers of the movie put in a scene like this because the releationship between the brothers is so true. The young boy who plays George is Luke Spill, and this is his very first movie. George is played by Nick Roud who had only done small T.V series prior to 'Finding Neverland'. Jack is played by Joe Prospero, and 'Finding Neverland' is his 7th onscreen appearance.
6. Who in the movie says this quote: (It is said near the end of the film when Peter Pan is being shown at Sylvia's house.) "When the first baby laughed for the first time, the laugh broke into a thousand pieces, and they all went skipping about. And that was the beginning of fairies."

Answer: Peter Pan

Peter Pan says this line in the movie. We hear it during the play at Sylvia's house, just before Peter Pan asks you to clap if you believe in fairies. The girl who plays Peter Pan is Kelly Macdonald. A girl was chosen for the role of Peter Pan because it was traditionally done like this.
7. What are the names of the four Llewelyn-Davies boys?

Answer: Peter, Michael, Jack and George

In real life, there were actually five Davies boys, but one was born while J.M. Barrie was writing the play, so he wasn't included in 'Peter Pan'. But in the film, the daughter of the 5th Davies' boy makes an appearance. She is the one who says to Peter Llewelyn-Davies after the play, "Look everyone, it's Peter Pan!"
8. Which Academy Award (Oscar) did 'Finding Neverland' win at the 77th Academy Awards (2005)

Answer: Best Achievement In Music, Original Score

The film only won the one Academy Award, but it was actually nominated for seven. Best Achievement in Editing, Best Actor in a Leading Role - Johnny Depp, Best Picture of the Year, Best Art Direction, Costume Design, and Best Adapted Screenplay were the nominations it recieved.
9. What was the main promotional tagline for 'Finding Neverland'? (There were about 4, but only one main one that was used for the posters and promotional advertising).

Answer: 'Unlock Your Imagination'.

The other 2 taglines that were mainly used were "How far can your imagination take you?" & "Where will your imagination take you?". Both rather similar, I personally like the they chose the best, because the film is all about using your imagination.
10. In the story of 'Peter Pan', and the original play written by J.M Barrie, there are only 2 Darling boys and their sister Wendy. There was also Peter Pan and all the Neverland characters obviously, but other than Peter, only one of the other Darling boy's names' was used in the play. Whose was it?

Answer: Michael

I found it kind of suprising that only Peter and Michael's names were used, and not Jack and George's. In the story of "Peter Pan" and the play/films/etc, Michael Darling is one of the brothers of Wendy, and so is John Darling.
