A few examples were a pair of roller skates that had rockets built in to make the skates move out of control at an exceptional speed, a water pistol with acid inside, and a musical orb built with retractable cords to strangle anyone who activated it.

One of the children (who belonged to one of the travelers) discovered the secret that the deadly dolls held... they were actually people once! The older couple (who were actually witches) cursed and killed these people, and trapped them forever in the bodies of the dolls. This film was produced by Charles Band and Brian Yuzna.

The doll that Jessica owned was possessed with an evil spirit from an ancient Mayan cult. When an archaeologist unsuccessfully tried to break into the tomb of Sanzia, it released evil spirits, which wound up possessing several dolls in a nearby doll factory in Mexico called Dolly Dearest.

The doll had a very evil influence on Jessica and began changing her personality. Her father Elliot owned the factory the creepy doll came from.
