Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. A little boy named Robbie Freeling got dragged under his bed by a creepy clown doll that came to life in this 1982 horror film. Name it.

Answer: Poltergeist

Oliver Robbins played the role of Robbie. The house his family lived in was built over a cemetery in which only the headstones were moved... which meant there were unrested spirits haunting their home. A lot of strange things happened, including Robbie's creepy clown doll coming to life and hiding under his bed one night before dragging him under there as well. Tobe Hooper directed this classic gem of a film that starred Craig T. Nelson and JoBeth Williams.
2. Brad Dourif was the voice of this killer doll from a very popular film franchise that started in 1988. What was the doll's name?

Answer: Chucky

Dourif played the role of serial killer Charles Lee Ray. His spirit went into a "Good Guy" doll named Chucky, which was given to a young boy named Andy. Things went south from there. Chucky went on to terrorize numerous victims throughout the years, considering that the original 1988 film titled 'Child's Play' went on to spawn numerous sequels.
3. In this 1984 film, a nine year old boy named Michael Andrews received a cymbal-banging monkey toy for his birthday. Unfortunately, the monkey was evil and caused very bad things to happen to the family. What was the name of this film?

Answer: The Devil's Gift

The Monkey toy became possessed with an angry spirit after a woman named Elmira Johnson tried communicating with the spirit through a Ouija board. The girlfriend of Michael's father gave him the toy after purchasing it from an antique shop. Soon after, bad things happened.

The family dog and goldfish died, as well as the plants in the house. The father's girlfriend got trapped under the monkey's spell and tried to kill Michael... twice! Things don't end well, to say the least. This film was directed, produced, written and edited by Kenneth J. Berton.
4. The 2013 horror creeper titled 'The Conjuring' had a very scary looking doll as one of the films memorable stars. What was her name?

Answer: Annabelle

An evil spirit manifested itself in Annabelle, and this caused the doll to haunt its owners. Since this film was based on actual events, there was in fact a real Annabelle doll, only it did not look like the one in the film. In real life, Annabelle was an innocent looking Raggedy Ann doll, which made the fact all the more creepy! 'The Conjuring' was directed by James Wan and starred Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson as paranormal investigators Lorraine and Ed Warren.
5. Evil clown dolls were a prominent feature in several horror films. This 1988 movie was no exception. A group of people were drawn to a deserted house after they received weird radio calls from there. When they arrived, weird and creepy things started happening... and of course it only got worse as the film moved along. An old clown doll possessed by an evil spirit inhabited the old house as well. What was the name of this film that was directed and written by Umberto Lenzi?

Answer: Ghosthouse

Joe D'Amato produced this 1988 horror film. The clown doll was given to a little girl by her father, who stole it out of a coffin at the funeral home in which he worked at as a funeral director. This led to the doll and his daughter being possessed by hostile spirits.

In Italy, this film was considered to be the unofficial sequel to the popular 1987 film 'Evil Dead II', which was directed by Sam Raimi.
6. In 1991, a famous horror film franchise released a sequel that starred Mickey Rooney as a toy maker of evil toys. Which film franchise was it?

Answer: Silent Night, Deadly Night

'Silent Night, Deadly Night 5: The Toy Maker' was the fourth sequel in this gory franchise. The original film was banned from theaters when it first came out in 1984 before eventually being put on vhs and dvd. Mickey Rooney protested against the first film by writing to the producers about his disdain for it... then ironically enough, wound up starring in "Part 5".

In this one, the toy maker and his son created an assortment of killer toys for the sheer purpose of them killing their owners. A few examples were a pair of roller skates that had rockets built in to make the skates move out of control at an exceptional speed, a water pistol with acid inside, and a musical orb built with retractable cords to strangle anyone who activated it.
7. The year 1989 was the year a Spanish horror film was released having to do with a little girl named Gaby. While on vacation with her family at their newly bought summer cottage, she found and kept an ugly doll that had the spirit of an evil, malevolent witch inhabiting it. What was the name of this film?

Answer: Vacations of Terror (Vacaciones de terror)

A family went on vacation one hundred years after an evil witch got burned at the stake. The witch vowed to get revenge on everyone while this was happening. Her spirit went into the doll and terrorized the family... pretty simple concept. A sequel to this film titled 'Vacations of Terror 2' was released in 1991.
8. Tiffany was the name of a killer doll in this 1998 horror comedy that was one of several sequels to a film that was released 10 years prior. What movie was Tiffany from?

Answer: Bride of Chucky

Jennifer Tilly was the voice of Tiffany, who made her appearance in the third sequel to the 1988 film 'Child's Play'. She was the ex-girlfriend of serial killer Charles Lee Ray. Her soul went into a bride doll when Chucky used voodoo to transfer her soul after he killed her.

He did this by pushing a TV in the bathtub with her while she was still human. She then became Chucky's killer partner in crime and changed her look from a bride to a tough looking, goth biker babe... sporting boots, leather, black eyeliner and black lipstick. And so the new Tiffany was born!
9. Ian Patrick Williams and Carolyn Purdy-Gordon starred in this 1987 film that was directed by Stuart Gordon. It was about a group of people who went to a mansion for shelter due to a storm that ensued. While there they became trapped by a deranged older couple who were makers of dolls that came to life. Turned out the evil dolls held a deadly secret. What was the name of this film?

Answer: Dolls

These wicked dolls would attack the house guests one by one. One of the children (who belonged to one of the travelers) discovered the secret that the deadly dolls held... they were actually people once! The older couple (who were actually witches) cursed and killed these people, and trapped them forever in the bodies of the dolls. This film was produced by Charles Band and Brian Yuzna.
10. This 1991 horror film starred Denise Crosby, Sam Bottoms and Rip Torn. It was about a seven year old girl named Jessica who became the owner of an evil doll. Jessica's family started to notice a change in her behavior, including a disturbing picture she had drawn. It all started after she had the doll in her possession. Name this film.

Answer: Dolly Dearest

The doll that Jessica owned was possessed with an evil spirit from an ancient Mayan cult. When an archaeologist unsuccessfully tried to break into the tomb of Sanzia, it released evil spirits, which wound up possessing several dolls in a nearby doll factory in Mexico called Dolly Dearest.

The doll had a very evil influence on Jessica and began changing her personality. Her father Elliot owned the factory the creepy doll came from.
