Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which film that starred Danny Aiello and Garrett Morris was about victims who became addicted to a deadly ice cream type substance?

Answer: The Stuff

This 1985 film was directed by Larry Cohen. Something very bad would happen to those who ate the white substance that wound up being marketed as ice cream to the public. People became addicted and couldn't stop eating it. After doing so, they had become sort of zombie-like, before finally being eaten alive from the inside.

The stuff was actually a parasite that had left its victims as nothing more than an empty shell.
2. In the 2009 movie 'Dread', a girl named Cheryl was locked in a room with something to eat. At first she had refused, until so much time had passed that she had decided to give in and chow down. What was the horrible thing that she wound up consuming?

Answer: Rotten meat with maggots all over it

Poor Cheryl had become one of Quaid's victims. While doing a study project for school about fear, he had decided to lock her up with nothing but a piece of meat. His reason was to see if she would finally decide she was hungry enough to eat it, and how long it would take her to do it.

She was a vegetarian because her father, who had worked in a meat packing plant, had gone into her room at night and molested her when she was younger. He would still have the smell of the meat on him, so the trauma turned her off from eating it. 'Dread' was part of the 'After Dark Horrorfest 4', and was taken from a short story by Clive Barker.
3. Which of these films was about four friends who wound up turning into zombies after eating some contaminated ice cream?

Answer: Ahh! Zombies!! (Wasting Away)

This quirky film was a 2007 horror/comedy about two couples who were hanging out in a bowling alley and had became members of the undead. It happened after they had eaten some soft serve ice cream, which was green in color. It had been contaminated, which caused the transformation. Only problem was... the poor good-natured group was not even aware at first that they were dead! The film's scenes would go from color to black and white, as we the viewers, got to see things from the zombies' perspective.
4. In one of these films, a coroner got hypnotized by a black beating heart. After staring at it for several seconds, he proceeded to eat it! This caused him to become possessed by the evil villain that the heart had originally belonged to. In which one of these movies did this happen?

Answer: Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday

'Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday' (1993) was the ninth film in the original film series. The FBI had set a trap for Jason Voorhees, which caused his body to be blown to bits. Unfortunately, when the remains of his body were sent to the coroner, his evil soul lived on.

After his heart had been consumed by Phil the coroner, he instantly became possessed by Jason's spirit. This caused him to slay victims, just as Jason would have. This film has a bit of a different twist to it, as opposed to the other films in the series.

In this one, Jason's spirit wound up being passed onto different victims, causing each one to become evil.
5. Which one of these films had a scene where a girl named Kristen almost got devoured by a giant worm-like version of Freddy Krueger?

Answer: A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors

Kristen Parker was played by Patricia Arquette. She was in a psychiatric hospital with other kids who were being terrorized by Freddy in their dreams. In one of her nightmares, Kristen struggled to escape being eaten alive by Freddy, until Nancy (played by Heather Langenkamp) wound up saving her. This film was released in 1987, and was the second sequel of the original film series.
6. Which one of these films featured a ventriloquist dummy named Fats?

Answer: Magic

Anthony Hopkins starred in this 1978 movie as a magician/ventriloquist named Charles "Corky" Withers. According to his doctors, Charles had a multiple personality disorder. This caused him to hear Fats talking to him and telling him what to do... which included murdering people.
7. This 1979 film was about a group of traveling friends who wound up trapped at a museum that contained some very creepy lifelike mannequins. Name the film.

Answer: Tourist Trap

A man named Mr. Slausen owned a museum that contained several mannequins. These mannequins at one time used to be human, before they were murdered and mummified by the twisted Mr. Slausen himself. Chuck Conners and Tanya Roberts starred in this classic horror film.
8. In this 1996 horror film, a little girl named Zoe befriended a doll that her mother had brought home. But after a while bad things, including deaths, began happening. The name of this film was called '________ Revenge'. What word or words are missing in the title?

Answer: Pinocchio's

It seemed whoever owned this doll would become a killer, because Pinocchio would tell them to do it. Was it really Pinocchio? Or could it have been that Zoe was really crazy? Just goes to prove one thing... never bring a strange doll into your home that had a bad history of evil things happening whenever it was around.
9. The 2007 movie 'Dead Silence' was about a woman ventriloquist whose spirit came back to exact revenge for her death. What was her name?

Answer: Mary

Her name was Mary Shaw. While putting on her ventriloquist show, she started getting mocked by a young boy, who stated that he could see her lips moving during her act. Not too long after this happened, the boy went missing. The obvious choice of who was responsible for the missing boy was Shaw, so she was murdered by having her tongue cut out. Donnie Wahlberg starred as Detective Jim Lipton, who was on the case.
10. Actor Terry O'Quinn played the role of a doctor who had a life-size medical dummy in his office. He would use ventriloquism to have the dummy explain things to his young son and daughter so they would feel more comfortable. His son, Leon, wound up becoming obsessed with the idea that the dummy was really talking, and started to believe it to be real. What was the name of the large dummy, which was also the title of this 1989 film?

Answer: Pin

Leon and his sister Ursula were very close, but they didn't always see eye to eye on everything. Especially the fact about Pin being like a real member of the family. Leon became obsessed with Pin, and even learned ventriloquism to speak for Pin as well. This film has a creepy, but sad ending.
