Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. I was mistaken for a hit man when all I wanted was to find work in Wyoming. Who played me?

Answer: Nicolas Cage

Cage, born on January 7th, 1964 in Long Beach, California, was cast as Michael Williams. Michael was from Texas but drove out to Wyoming in order to look for work. During the interview, he told his prospective employer that he had a bad knee and the employer said that he could not hire Michael due to his injury. Michael stopped at a bar and the bar owner noticed that Michael had a Texas license plate.

The owner assumed he was the hit man he had hired to kill his wife since the hit man was from Texas.

However, Michael was not the hit man but he did not reveal this to the bar owner. He took his money and tried to leave the town of Red Rock. When he drove at night, he hit a guy and took him to the hospital. The sheriff's office was called and the bar owner came down and revealed that he was also the sheriff.

The sheriff looked at Michael's driver's license and realized Michael was not the man he hired to kill his wife. The sheriff handcuffed Michael to his car and asked Michael where the money was. Michael claimed it was in the glove compartment of his car.

The sheriff and Michael scuffled and Michael managed to unlock the handcuffs. He ran away and met a man named Lyle. Michael realized that Lyle was the real hit man and he ran from him. However, Lyle caught up to Michael and it was in the final scene when they struggled and Michael swung Lyle into a statute with a sharp object. The sharp object impaled Lyle and Michael simply walked away. Michael and the sheriff's wife, Suzanne, got the money that the sheriff offered to the hit man and they ran towards a train. Suzanne held Michael at gunpoint on the train but the gun had no bullets. Michael got rid of the money and tossed Suzanne off the train. Cage was in the movies "National Treasure", "Honeymoon in Vegas" and "Con Air". In 1996, he won an Academy Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role for the film "Leaving Las Vegas". Other Oscar nominees for Best Actor in a Leading Role that year were Sean Penn for "Dead Man Walking", Massimo Troisi for "II Postino", Richard Dreyfuss for "Mr. Holland's Opus" and Anthony Hopkins for "Nixon".
2. My husband put a hit out on me. Who played me?

Answer: Lara Flynn Boyle

Boyle, a native of Davenport, Iowa, landed the role of Suzanne Brown. Suzanne was Wayne Brown's wife and she was unaware that Wayne had hired a hit man to kill her. When Michael told Suzanne what his plan was, she asked him if he would go through with it. Michael commented that he did not want to see a woman get hurt but it was an awful lot of money. Michael and Suzanne decided to run from Wayne and the real hit man, Lyle, and they planned to go to Mexico. Near the end of the movie, it was revealed that Suzanne went under an alias and was also known as "Ann McCord" since she and her husband were wanted by the FBI. Suzanne claimed that Wayne was involved in a money scheme when he worked at a steel mill in Illinois but she did not know about it until after the fact.

At the end of the movie, Suzanne shot Lyle dead after he and Michael tussled. Boyle guest starred on the TV series "Ally McBeal" and "Law and Order". From 1997 to 2003, she portrayed Helen Gamble on the ABC primetime series "The Practice".
3. Lyle threw a knife at me and it stabbed me in the neck. Who played me?

Answer: J.T. Walsh

Walsh, born in 1943 in San Francisco, California, played Wayne Brown. Wayne was both a sheriff and a bar owner and he hired a man named Lyle to kill his wife. He thought Michael was the hit man and gave Michael the money since he assumed Michael would kill his wife, Suzanne.

The real hit man arrived and he and Wayne teamed up to find both Michael and Suzanne and kill them. In the middle of the movie, Wayne was arrested since he was wanted by the FBI. This was when we found out he had an alias and also went by the name "Kevin McCord".

In the final scene at the cemetery, Lyle threw a knife at Wayne and it stabbed Wayne in the neck. The police arrived minutes later and Wayne pointed in the direction of where Michael and Suzanne had gone. Walsh had roles in the films "Backdraft", "The Client" and "Breakdown".
4. I notified Deputy Matt Greytack that someone called and said they heard gunshots out by a cemetery. Who played me?

Answer: Barbara Glover

Glover had the small role of Jane. Jane was a dispatcher for the sheriff's office and she only appeared at the end of the movie. Before Matt started his shift, he told Jane what to do when someone called in and she told him she understood. Jane got a call from someone about hearing gunshots out by a cemetery. Jane told Matt what the complaint was about and informed him at which cemetery this took place. Matt told Jane to call them back to tell them he was on his way. Glover guest starred on the TV show "The Young Riders".

She had roles in the films "Curse II: The Bite" and "Dead Beat".
5. I nearly ran over Mike with my car. Who played me?

Answer: Dennis Hopper

Hopper, born on May 17th, 1936 in Dodge City, Kansas, was cast as Lyle from Dallas. Lyle first appeared when Michael was on the road and Lyle nearly ran him down. Lyle got out of the car and asked Michael what he was doing in the middle of the road and Michael told him he was running from someone and that he was injured. Lyle offered to take Michael to a bar and Michael accepted his invitation.

When Michael went to the bathroom, he peeked through the door and noticed that Lyle and Wayne were talking and he realized that Lyle was the real hit man. Lyle and Wayne looked for Michael but Michael had climbed to the roof and got onto a big rig that was departing Red Rock. Lyle went to Suzanne's house but Michael saw him and knocked him out.

In Lyle's next scene, he caught up to Michael and Suzanne and he knocked Michael out, then held Suzanne at gunpoint. Lyle tied up Michael and Suzanne and put them in his car.

He drove out to a house and lit it on fire to create a diversion in order to bust Wayne out of jail.

When Lyle went to the sheriff's office, he shot a guy named Ted and broke Wayne out after Wayne agreed he would give Lyle half the money he stole from a steel mill in Illinois. Michael freed himself and tried to free Suzanne but Lyle came out and held a gun on Michael. He told him to put Suzanne back in the car and Michael gave Suzanne the pocket knife to use to cut through the rope that bound her hands. Lyle instructed Michael to drive and Michael went to the cemetery since that was where Wayne said the money was. At the cemetery, Michael and Lyle struggled and Michael thought he killed Lyle when he threw him into a statue which impaled him. Lyle got up and tried to attack Michael but Suzanne told Michael to get out of the way and she shot Lyle dead. Hopper had roles in the films "Waterworld", "Super Mario Bros." and "Bad City Blues".
6. I was the first officer to respond to a call about gunshots at a cemetery. Who played me?

Answer: Timothy Carhart

Carhart, a native of Washington, D.C., played Deputy Matt Greytack. Matt was first seen when he went to the hospital where Michael brought a guy whom he hit with his car. Matt asked him if he knew about the bullets found in the guy's body and Michael said he did not know what that was about and said he did not shoot him.

When Wayne came, Matt told Wayne it did not make sense for Michael to shoot the guy and then bring him to the hospital. Matt responded to two other important calls, the first of which was when a house was on fire.

The second call was when someone phoned the sheriff's office to report that they heard shots fired at a cemetery. Matt was the first one to respond to the latter call and he ordered for back up. When Matt got to the cemetery with other officers, Michael and Suzanne were already long gone. Carhart guest starred on the TV series "The X Files", "Law and Order" and "Roseanne".
7. It was revealed that Suzanne shot me. Who played me?

Answer: Dale Gibson

Gibson, a native of Louisville, Kentucky, had the small role of Kurt. Kurt worked on Suzanne's ranch and the two of them began to fall in love. The doctor informed Michael that Kurt would make it and that it was a good thing Michael brought him in since he had lost a lot of blood.

At the end of the movie, Suzanne told Michael that she had shot Kurt since she thought he was going to take her money. Gibson portrayed characters in the movies "Redemption", "Magnolia" and "The Garden".
8. I called the sheriff's office from the hospital when I noticed bullet wounds in my patient's body. Who played me?

Answer: Robert Guajardo

The receptionist paged Dr. Smoot and said his name on the intercom. Dr. Smoot came in and took Kurt to a room and asked Michael to stay since he needed to ask him some questions. Dr. Smoot came out and told Michael that Kurt would make it.

A couple of seconds later, some members of the sheriff's office came in and Dr. Smoot told him Michael was the guy who brought Kurt to the hospital. We learned that it was Dr. Smoot who called them since he noticed bullet wounds in Kurt's body. Guajardo starred in the films "Lightning Jack", "Dead Beat" and "Ordinary Day".
