"And All That Could Have Been" Quiz

Just consider this a quiz to see how good your memory is. If you haven't seen "And All That Could Have Been" by NIN I don't recommend taking this quiz because it would be nearly impossible.

Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. With the mood of the song, the lighting, and the camera work, what song was designed to be the most intense out of all the other songs played?

Answer: The song right before "Hurt"

The biggest giveaway that they were trying to bring this out in this song was in the amazing camera work. The only other song that seemed to come close was "March of the Pigs".
2. Out of the 18 songs performed live, how many songs did Trent show off his guitar/bass skills in?

Answer: 8

The songs were in this order: "Gave Up", "The Mark Has Been Made", "Wish", "Complication", "Suck", "Head Like A Hole", "Just Like You Imagined", and that song right before "Hurt".
3. Out of any member in the band, who made it most obvious from his appearance that this performance wasn't performed all in one concert date and was actually taken from the entire tour?

Answer: Robin Finck

If you disagree with me, take a look at Robin's hair throughout a single song. You can easily see it go from being there, to being in a mohawk, to only having bangs, to not being there at all. The point is you can't change that during a performance while playing a guitar without stopping but it happens anyway.
4. NIN totally trashes the stage after one song (to make the encore seem less obvious). What song was the stage trashed right after?

Answer: "Head Like A Hole"

I thought it was a cool effect and of course since they used footage from the whole tour there wasn't a big gap for them to set everything back up.
5. What is one thing that didn't happen in the performance of "Closer"?

Answer: Trent sang every word of the song

By far the DVD was worth it just to see Trent smash his keyboard. Trent sang just about everything up until the words said at the end, which were just a recording they played.
6. A roll of toilet paper can be seen being thrown across the crowd during what song?

Answer: "Wish"

Those crazy fans...
7. Something that appears to be a lighter is thrown onto the stage during what song?

Answer: "March of the Pigs"

This happens right after Trent says "doesn't that make you feel better" and the lights go out, just in case you missed it. It was probably a glowstick but who knows?
8. What song was cut down a lot during its live performance in the "Fragility Tour", compared to how it is originally on cd?

Answer: "Complication"

When played live, "Complication" was a little under 2 minutes long, while on "The Fragile" it's about 2 mintues and 30 seconds long.
9. The first effects coming from the three huge screens were during what song?

Answer: "The Wretched"

The first video of course comes during "La Mer" - but I didn't ask that. There are blue lines that move down the screens while they're still above the band during "The Wretched".
10. Trent throws what in "Wish"?

Answer: His Guitar

He does it twice during "the night". He first is seen throwing his guitar in "Wish" and later on he throws it in "Head Like A Hole". The last time he threw Danny off stage on video was in "Closure".
11. At the very beginning, before "Terrible Lie" starts, there is a song being played. This song is actually two songs mixed together. One of them is "Pinion" - what is the name of the other song?

Answer: "The New Flesh"

Both songs came together to create a simple little intro for the concert.
12. Trent pushes Robin off the stage during what song?

Answer: "Sin"

Another way you can tell this wasn't just one performance: a second later he was right back up on stage playing his guitar like nothing happened.
13. Let's just say you were to stare at Charlie for the whole performance. At most, how many different contraptions did he have up there for him to possibly play?

Answer: 3

Most of the time you only see two, but during some songs there are three things.
14. You can actually see a big smile on Jerome at one point during this song. This is probably because he got to hit his drum set as hard as he could. What song was this?

Answer: "Just Like You Imagined"

That one point of the song, where everyone is doing their thing, "singing" into their mics and then it all explodes. Doesn't that make you just want to jump, cause if that doesn't I don't think anything will?
15. Which of these is one of the giveaways that this performance wasn't filmed all at one concert date? (Remember - some of these might be giveaways, but they didn't actually happen.)

Answer: Every so often you see clouds in the background

I guess when they put this all together, it didn't matter because the shot was good.
16. Charlie was only shown getting attacked once. Who attacked him?

Answer: Robin

Wouldn't it have been great if a fan attacked him? Oh well, it was still funny to see Robin walk up to him, push him off, and then walk away like nothing happened.
17. Besides singing and playing a few instruments what else did Trent do during this performance?

Answer: All of these things

It's great seeing NIN perform live just to see what Trent does on stage.
18. By far, where did the rest of the band (besides Trent) get to sing the most during one song?

Answer: "Gave Up"

They (not including Jerome) song the whole chorus without Trent.
19. The standard stage layout had Trent in the middle, Charlie on the left, and Jerome on the right. Where were Danny and Robin?

Answer: Danny on the left, Robin on the right

Sure they both went on their merry way but for the most part they stayed on "their side" of the stage.
20. Trent is brought to his knees by a fan in what song?

Answer: "Piggy"

A fan put their hand out, Trent grabbed it, and the fan pulled him down. What were you thinking?
21. Trent caught something that looked like a towel in "Head Like A Hole". Trent also threw his guitar. What was so special about this song on the DVD?

Answer: It is the key for the secret tracks

I'm sure this isn't anything new for people who own the DVD. Simply press the number 7 after the last time Trent says "No, you can't take it" the first time he sings that chorus.
22. The only song in which Robin can be seen playing the keyboard is?

Answer: Closer

It's not that long a period of time, but he does play the keyboard a little.
23. Robin can be seen playing a weird looking guitar during what song?

Answer: "La Mer"

If anyone knows what that guitar was called, please tell me and I'll type it up here.
24. Lighters were seen in the crowd many times during the performance. During what song were there the most lighters seen at once in the crowd?

Answer: "The Frail"

You have to love that shot of the crowd at the end. It looked eerie with all the lighters.
25. During most of the "Fragility Tour" "Terrible Lie" was not the only song to be played first. What song was also played first during a bunch of the concerts?

Answer: "Somewhat Damaged"

I almost cried when "Somewhat Damaged" wasn't put on "Halo 17", it is one of the best Trent has ever written in my opinion.
