Fourplay was formed in 1991, however the members first played together on Bob James' 1990 effort "Grand Piano Canyon". Lee Ritenour left the group in 1997 and was replaced by Larry Carlton. Larry Carlton left in 2010 and was replaced by present guitarist Jeff Golub.

Formed in 1972 and undergoing a number of personnel changes Return to Forever is the premiere fusion band with each of its members going on to do solo work. They reunited in 2008 to tour again. However, in 1981 Stanley Clarke and George Duke joined forces to form the Clarke and Duke Project.

The duo spawned the hits "Sweet Baby","Louie, Louie" from the first effort and went on produce a Clarke/Duke Project II and III in 1983 and 1990.
