Answer: 19th

The Rolling stones were having their "19th Nervous Breakdown" stuck at number two on the UK chart in 1966 after five consecutive number one hits. It was also stuck at number two for three weeks on the US pop chart.

The Rolling Stones had eight UK number one hits in the '60s the last one was "Honky Tonk Woman" in 1969. That was also their last of five number one hits on the US pop chart in the '60s.
4. Was Elvis Presley getting too hot with "Burning _____"?

Answer: Love

"Burning Love" was a number two hit for the King on the US pop chart in 1972. Not so hot, it reached number seven on the UK chart.

What is there left to say about Elvis. I don't know how true it is but I believe there are even some people out there who never liked him. At his death in 1977 he had racked up 17 UK number one hits and 18 on the US pop chart. He is still having posthumous number one hits in the UK through re-issues of his old hits. In 2002 a re-mixed version of "A Little Less Conversation" went to number one. In 2005 18 of his singles were re-released to mark what would have been his 70th birthday. Three of them became number one hits, "Jailhouse Rock", "One Night" and "It's Now Or Never", although they had already been UK number one hits on original release.
5. I wonder what was going through John Lennon's mind when he was singing about his "#_____ Dream"?

Answer: 9

"#9 Dream" was only a number 23 hit on the UK chart in 1975. Coincidentally it reached number nine on the US pop chart.

John Lennon was having a lean time on the UK charts from 1973 to 1980 with only one top 20 chart hit "Imagine" at number six in 1975. On re-release it reached number one in 1980 and number three in 1999. His 1974 US number one "Whatever Gets You Through The Night" only reached number 36 on the UK chart.
6. Did The Bangles get a little mad on "Manic _____"?

Answer: Monday

The Bangles had a number two hit on the US chart in 1986 with "Manic Monday" (written by Prince). It also reached number two on the UK chart.

All girl group The Bangles were sisters Vicki (lead guitar) and Debbi (drums) Peterson, Michael Steele (bass) and Susanna Hoffs (guitar). Disbanded in 1989, Reformed in 1999 they were inducted into the Vocal Group Hall Of Fame in 2000. In 2005 the group were made Companions of the Liverpool Institute For The Performing Arts.
7. Could Fleetwood Mac be getting a little annoyed over "Little _____"?

Answer: Lies

"Little Lies" was a number five hit on the UK chart in 1987 for Fleetwood Mac. It went one higher and reached number four on the US pop chart.

Fleetwood Mac were originally an all-male British blues band and had an instrumental number one on the UK chart in 1968 with "Albatross". Pete Green left and Christine McVie joined the group. Later Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks joined and the group became a UK/US group. Their album "Rumours" has sold over 24 million in the US and was on the UK album chart longer than any other album for 450 weeks.
8. Did Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers really mean this was "Mary _____ Last Dance"?

Answer: Jane's

"Mary Jane's Last Dance" gave Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers a number 14 hit on the US pop chart in 1994. It reached number 52 on the UK chart.

Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2002. They have never had a number one on the US pop chart or a top 20 entry on the UK chart. Del Shannon (one of my favourite '60s singers) was one of Tom Petty's early musical heroes and Petty had worked with him, producing and writing along with Jeff Lynne. After Roy Orbison (who was a member of The Traveling Wilburys along with Tom Petty and Jeff Lynne) died in 1988, Del Shannon would probably have joined them if not for his own death (suicide) in 1990.
9. What conclusion did Savage Garden come to about the person in this song "I Knew I _____ You"?

Answer: Loved

Savage Garden sang "I Knew I Loved You" and reached number ten on the UK chart in 1999. It spent four weeks at number one on the US pop chart in 2000.

Australian duo Savage Garden were Darren Hayes and Daniel Jones. They had three US top 10 hits including two number one's. They had four UK top ten hits but no number one's. Their first album sold over eleven million copies worldwide.
10. Who were Welsh group The Manic Street Preachers singing about in "The _____ Against The Classes"?

Answer: Masses

The Manic Street Preachers had the first UK number of the new millennium with "The Masses Against The Classes" for one week in 2000. It never charted in the US.

The Manics were the top selling Welsh group of the 90's. They won trophies for the Best British Group and Best Album at the 1997 and 1999 Brit Awards. They have been charting in the UK since 1991 and only had one UK top ten hit until 1996. They have had two UK number one hits but no chart hits in the US.
