Martin Scorsese was born in New York in 1942, and directed his first film "Who's That Knocking at My Door" in 1967. He was first nominated for an Oscar for the 1976 movie "Taxi Driver", and finally landed one in 2006 for "The Departed", which starred Leonardo DiCaprio and Jack Nicholson.

Martin Luther King, Jr. was born in Atlanta in 1929. A minister in the Baptist Church, he first came to national prominence when he led the Montgomery bus boycott of 1955. In 1963, he gave his famous "I have a dream" speech at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington. On April 4th, 1968, he was shot dead by James Earl Ray in Memphis.

Although best known for his TV work, he has also appeared in a number of films, including "Saving Grace" and "Shakespeare in Love".

Born in Wegeleben in 1900, Martin Bormann joined the Nazi party in 1927. He was personal secretary to Rudolf Hess from 1933 until 1941, and then Hitler's secretary from 1941 until 1945. He was also head of the Party Chancellery (in other words the Party bureacracy) from 1941-1945.

At the end of World War II, he was presumed to have escaped to South America, but remains found in Berlin in 1972 were later positvely identified as those of Bormann.
