Cleopatra has been portrayed in many films and movies over the years. She is always shown to have great passion and strength as a woman and queen. Octavia was the wife of Mark Antony. Iras and Charmian were Cleopatra's maidservants.

Joan of Arc's parents were farmers in the small community of Domrémy. As she became a teen she believed she heard the angels of the Lord speaking to her. She became certain that she was to help fight against the English armies and made her way to eventually speak to King Charles and convince him and others of this fact.

The French armies did have much success in her company. Unfortunately, during a battle with the Burgundians, she was captured and eventually sold to the English who she was charged with heresy.

She was convicted and burnt at the stake.

Susan B. Anthony's involvement in the women's rights movement was paramount in bringing about changes to the laws and beliefs of society in the 19th century. She was unrelenting in her quest, traveling across the United States and Europe giving up to 100 speeches a year.

Although she is most remembered for her fight for woman's rights she also had a strong voice in the abolition of slavery. Her life was filled with many significant accomplishments. She passed away in 1906, many years before she could see women given the right to vote.

Anna Mary Robertson Moses didn't begin painting until she was in her seventies. During the next three decades she created many paintings, and was honored many times. Although her paintings started out selling for five dollars at the local store, in 2006 her work Sugaring Off, sold for $1.2 million.

She is an inspiration for many woman showing that its never too late to follow your dreams.

Her student was of course Helen Keller, who became deaf and blind from a very early age as the result of an illness. The two spent the rest of their lives together traveling and lecturing. Their ashes are laid together at the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C.
