Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. ETHS was a son of Eve and the brother of Cain, but in the New Testament he found his greatest fame. (Now unscramble the letters in the first word to come up with the correct answer. Remember, all spelling in this quiz is per the NKJV.)

Answer: Seth

Seth was the third son of Adam and Eve, being born after Cain and Abel. According to Genesis 5:8 he lived nine hundred and twelve years, which wasn't unusual for Bible characters shortly after the beginning of creation. Going strictly by Scripture, Seth's life was not out of the ordinary, with his name appearing nine times in the Old Testament using the NKJV.

However, it's a different story when one reads Luke 3:8 in the New Testament. The verse includes Seth in the genealogy of Jesus Christ. Also included are Seth's father Adam and Seth's son Enosh.
2. HMAELTEHSU was definitely the Bible's oldest man. In fact, no one came close in all of the land. (Now unscramble the letters in the first word to come up with the correct answer. Remember, all spelling in this quiz is per the NKJV.)

Answer: Methuselah

Methuselah is the correct answer. According to Genesis 5:27, he was nine hundred and sixty-nine years old when he died. That's seven years more than Jared, the second oldest man in the Bible. Genesis 5:20 states Jared was nine hundred and sixty-two years old when he died.

Meanwhile, the third oldest man in the Bible was Adam, who lived to be nine hundred and thirty years, as per Genesis 5:5.

Other Bible people who were long in the tooth were Canaan (nine hundred and ten years, as per Genesis 5:14) and Enosh (nine hundred and five years, as per Genesis 5:11).
3. HDAERBO was a dynamic and devoted judge. On the battlefield she didn't budge. (Now unscramble the letters in the first word to come up with the correct answer. Remember, all spelling in this quiz is per the NKJV.)

Answer: Deborah

Deborah was the only female judge of Israel and a ferocious co-leader of the country's military. In fact, Judges 4:8 tells of Barak, the commander of Israel's army informing Deborah he would go into battle against the Canaanites providing she would go with him. If Deborah should not go with him, Barak is quoted as saying he would not go into battle.

Scripture goes on to tell of Deborah going with Barak and the Israelites scoring a spectacular military victory over Sisera and the Canaanite army.
4. LJEEBZE was a vile and very evil queen. She was one of the worst, her likes seldom seen. (Now unscramble the letters in the first word to come up with the correct answer. Remember, all spelling in this quiz is per the NKJV.)

Answer: Jezebel

Jezebel is generally regarded as the most wicked woman in the Bible. She and her husband Ahab were vehement and ruthless opponents of the prophets of God and they did everything in their power to remove them from the scene. Scores of prophets were killed, but try as they may, Jezebel and Ahab were unable to get rid of the man they hated most -- Elijah.
5. HIASIA was a prophet of God who didn't pull a punch. He told it the way it was standing firm in the crunch. (Now unscramble the letters in the first word to come up with the correct answer. Remember, all spelling in this quiz is per the NKJV.)

Answer: Isaiah

Isaiah is the correct answer. He was a prophet of God noted for denouncing the people of Judah for their wickedness. Isaiah was the son of Amoz and he prophesied during the reigns of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah.

Christians believe Isaiah's writings contain numerous prophecies pertaining to the coming of Jesus Christ, with Isaiah 53 being just one example.
6. STAHMO was a disciple who wouldn't believe, but when he saw Jesus belief he did achieve. (Now unscramble the letters in the first word to come up with the correct answer. Remember, all spelling in this quiz is per the NKJV.)

Answer: Thomas

Thomas will be forever remembered as the disciple who stubbornly refused to believe reports about the resurrection of Christ. This, even though a number of the other disciples had insisted they saw the resurrected Christ following His crucifixion.

Thomas is notorious for stating he would not believe the reports until he could personally examine the resurrections wounds on Christ's hands and on His side.

John 20:24-29 tells of all doubts being removed for Thomas when Christ appeared before him while the other disciples looked on. After Thomas examined Christ's resurrection wounds, he became a complete believer, exclaiming "My Lord and my God!"
7. HETLEIBZA was unable to give birth to a child, however, when son John was born in the Bible she was profiled. (Now unscramble the letters in the first word to come up with the correct answer. Remember, all spelling in this quiz is per the NKJV.)

Answer: Elizabeth

Elizabeth was the mother of John the Baptist. While ages are not given in Scripture, Elizabeth and her husband Zacharias (Zachariah in the NIV) were elderly with no children. Things changed dramatically, however, when the angel Gabriel visited Zacharias and announced he and his wife would become parents of a baby boy who would be named John.

Gabriel is quoted as telling Zacharias this about their son: "And he will turn many of the children of Israel to the Lord their God. He will also go before Him in the spirit and power of Elijah, 'to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children,' and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just, to make ready a people prepared for the Lord."
8. EPTILA was informed of a dream by his wife. It made no difference as Jesus 'lost' His life. (Now unscramble the letters in the first word to come up with the correct answer. Remember, all spelling in this quiz is per the NKJV.)

Answer: Pilate

Scripture tells of Jesus appearing before Pilate after His arrest in the Garden of Gethsemane and Pilate being told by his wife she had a dream and that he should, "have nothing to do with that just Man." However, Pilate refused to listen to his wife's advice and gave into the crowd, agreeing to have Jesus scourged and then crucified. (See Matthew 27:11-26)

However, three days after He was crucified, all four Gospels tell of Christ triumphantly rising from the dead, just like He said He would.
9. APLRLIISC was a key worker in the early church, she and her husband Aquila never left others in a lurch (Now unscramble the letters in the first word to come up with the correct answer. Remember, all spelling in this quiz is per the NKJV.)

Answer: Priscilla

Priscilla and Aquila were a dynamic husband-wife team involved in spreading the Gospel message during the days of the early church. I find it fascinating that when their names appear in the New Testament, Priscilla often appears before Aquila. And this was during a time when there was seemingly complete male domination, with women not even included in census figures and the like.
10. SEUUHTCY fell asleep in a window and tumbled down to his death. But when Paul took action it wasn't his last breath. (Now unscramble the letters in the first word to come up with the correct answer. Remember, all spelling in this quiz is per the NKJV.)

Answer: Eutychus

Acts 20:7-12 tells of Eutychus falling asleep in a third storey window in Troas while Paul, the apostle to the Gentiles, preached on and on. Then tragedy struck when Eutychus tumbled out of the window and was found dead on the ground below. Miraculously, Paul was able to raise Eutychus from the dead. Scripture goes on to tell of Paul going back upstairs, breaking bread, and continuing to preach the Gospel message.
