Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Rehoboam did evil in the eyes of the LORD, and so this Egyptian king attacked Jerusalem. Who was this king?

Answer: Shishak

1 Kings 14:25, "In the fifth year of King Rehoboam, Shishak king of Egypt attacked Jerusalem." Because of Rehoboam's sin, Yahweh let Shishak steal much of the treasure Solomon put into the temple. 2 Chronicles 12 gives a parallel account with more detail about this sad time in Judah's history.
2. For how many years did King Abijah of Judah reign?

Answer: 3

1 Kings 15:2. Abijah sinned by worshiping the idols set up by Solomon. He fought against Jeroboam throughout his lifetime. 2 Chronicles 13 tells of one of Abijah's victories. Abijah is also known in some translations of the Bible as 'Abijam.'
3. Jehoram who was the fifth king of Judah married this wicked woman. Who was this wicked queen?

Answer: Athaliah

Athaliah and Jehoram were both evil rulers. Athaliah was Ahab's daughter and introduced the evil of Ahab to Judah. This fact is recorded in 2 Kings 8:17 and 2 Kings 8:26. Athaliah would later try to destroy the line of David in 2 Kings 11.
4. Ahaziah also practiced the evils of the family of Ahab. Judgment was brought upon him when this warrior killed him. Who am I referring to?

Answer: Jehu

2 Kings 9:27. Ahaziah was visiting Joram of Israel when Jehu attacked the two kings. Jehu shot Joram and then chased Ahaziah to Megiddo where Ahaziah died of wounds. Jehu then became king of Israel and Athaliah ruled Judah.
5. Which evil king of Judah had a father and a son who "Did what was right in the eyes of the LORD" yet he was so wicked he sacrificed his son in the fire?

Answer: Ahaz

2 Kings 16 talks about King Ahaz, a wicked ruler of Judah. He had a Godly father named Jotham and his son was the upright and wise King Hezekiah. Ahaz did so much evil and sacrificed to many different idols in his 16-year reign.
6. Manasseh was arguably the most evil king of Judah. Which of the following evils is NOT recorded in 2 Kings 21?

Answer: Executed his wife

2 Kings 21 gives many descriptions of the evil Manasseh did in Judah. To get a picture of his evil, 2 Kings 21:16 says, "Moreover, Manasseh also shed so much innocent blood that he filled Jerusalem from end to end--besides the sin that he caused Judah to commit, so that they did evil in the eyes of the LORD." Worst of all, he reigned longer than all of the kings of Judah, 55 years.
7. Amon was just as evil as his father Manasseh. How did he die?

Answer: He was assassinated

2 Kings 21:23. 2 Kings does not talk much about Amon, it basically says he did the evils of Manasseh and he was assassinated by his officials. 2 Chronicles 33:21-25 is a parallel account of this.
8. Jehoiakim reigned in Judah how long?

Answer: 11 years

2 Kings 23:36a, "Jehoiakim was 25 years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem eleven years." The Babylonians attacked Judah and took captives to Babylon. Many scholars believe that Daniel and his friends were brought to Babylon at this time.
9. How was Jehoiachin related to Zedekiah?

Answer: Nephew-Uncle

2 Kings 24:17. Jehoiachin was the second-to-last king of Judah. When he was captured, his uncle Zedekiah seized power in Jerusalem and became the last king of Judah.
10. Which nation did Judah fall to and which king conquered them?

Answer: Babylon-Nebuchadnezzer

2 Kings 25:1-26. Judah fell to Babylon because of the sins committed by the evil kings of Judah. It would not be until Cyrus the Great that the people of Judah would return to their own land.
