Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. I was Abraham's first wife. I had one son before I died. Who am I?

Answer: Sarah

Sarah, originally Sarai, was Abraham's first wife (Genesis 11:29). Miriam was Moses' sister (Exodus 15:20), Hagar was Sarah's maidservant (Genesis 16:1), and Keturah was Abraham's second wife (Genesis 25:1)!
2. I am the first person mentioned in the book of Exodus. I had twelve sons who became great nations. Who am I?

Answer: Jacob

Although all of these choices were mentioned within the first three chapters, Jacob was the first one. (Exodus 1:1 - Jacob, Exodus 1:2 - Reuben, Exodus 1:5 - Joseph, Exodus 2:10 - Moses).
3. I am the only female judge. I prophesied that the Lord would sell Sisera into the hands of a woman. Who am I?

Answer: Deborah

Deborah was the only female judge recorded in the Bible. And since Barak would not go to war without Deborah, she prophesied that defeating the commander of the Army, Sisera, would fall into the hands of a woman. (Judges 4:4-5:15)
4. My best friend later became a well-known king. I died in battle and my father fell on his sword. Who am I?

Answer: Jonathan

Jonathan was the best friend of the great King David. I can't imagine how hard it would be to be friends with my father's worst enemy, but somehow he did it. (1 Samuel 15:1)
5. My mother prayed for my birth. When I was born, she promised me to the Lord. I became the last judge. Who am I?

Answer: Samuel

Although both Samuel and Samson became judges, Samuel was the last one. Moses was the one put in a basket (Exodus 2) and Elijah was a prophet (1 Kings 16-21).
6. I was Leah's first son. Who am I?

Answer: Reuben

Tricky? Reuben was the first, then Simeon, Levi, then lastly Judah. Leah also had two other sons and a daughter. (Genesis 29:32-35)
7. I was a twin. My brother tricked me out of my inheritance, but I later forgave him. Who am I?

Answer: Esau

Esau and Jacob were twins (Genesis 25:25-26). Some time in Jacob's life, he tricked his older brother out of his inheritance and blessing (Genesis 25:29-34 and Genesis 27). Benjamin and Naphtali were two of Jacob's sons. (Genesis 30:8 and Genesis 30:18)
8. I was a wicked queen, married to a wicked king. When I died, dogs ate my remains. Who am I?

Answer: Jezebel

Jezebel's fate was rather disgusting, but she deserved it after her terrible life. Jezreel is the place where Jezebel died (2 Kings 9:36), Delilah betrayed Samson to the Philistines (Judges 16), and there are many Marys in the Bible.
9. I was told to prophesy to a place called Nineveh, but chose not to. Because of that choice, I spent three days and three nights in the belly of a great fish. Who am I?

Answer: Jonah

This should have been pretty easy. Noah was in the flood (Genesis 6-10), Adam was the first man (Genesis 2-3), and Jeremiah was another prophet (Jeremiah 1:5), though he didn't get swallowed by a fish!
10. Toughie: My name is Lapidoth and I am only mentioned ONCE in the entire Bible. Why am I mentioned?

Answer: I was Deborah's husband

Whew! That was hard! I had to go get my Concordance for that. Okay, Lapidoth was Deborah's husband. He is mentioned in Judges 4:4. Other than that one time, he's not mentioned. Talk about your five minutes of fame!
