Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What is the first word of Acts (KJV)?

Answer: The

It says in Acts 1:1, "The former treatise have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach."

Scholars are not 100% sure, but they believe that the book of Acts was written by Luke, the Physician who also wrote the book Luke, which is one of the four Gospels.
2. When the lame man asked Peter and John for alms, did they give him silver and gold?

Answer: No

It says in Acts 3:6, "Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk."

Jesus gave his apostles the ability to perform these miracles through Him so that they could preach the Gospel and so that people would believe.
3. Who did Peter say it's better to obey: man or God?

Answer: God

It says in Acts 5:29, "Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men."

This was in response to the high priest having told them they couldn't preach the Gospel.
4. What happened to Stephen in the Book of Acts?

Answer: He was stoned to death.

It says in Acts 7:59, "And they stoned Stephen, calling upon God, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit."

Stephen is considered the first Christian martyr. That means he was the first Christian killed for being a Christian.
5. Acts 11:18 says that Gentiles also can be saved, but who are the Gentiles?

Answer: Anyone who is not Jewish

It says in Acts 11:18, "When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life."

This word would best translate as goyim in Hebrew and as ethnoi in Greek.
6. Where was Paul told to go in the vision he had in chapter 16?

Answer: Macedonia

It says in Acts 16:9, "And a vision appeared to Paul in the night; There stood a man of Macedonia, and prayed him, saying, Come over into Macedonia, and help us."

Macedonia was a land north of Greece.
7. Who was Aquila married to?

Answer: Priscilla

It says in Acts 18:2, "And found a certain Jew named Aquila, born in Pontus, lately come from Italy, with his wife Priscilla; (because that Claudius had commanded all Jews to depart from Rome) and came unto them."

Aquila and Priscilla were tent makers by trade, but helped Paul out with his ministry as well.
8. Who was the man who died while Paul was preaching?

Answer: Eutychus

It says in Acts 20:9, "And there sat in a window a certain young man named Eutychus, being fallen into a deep sleep: and as Paul was long preaching, he sunk down with sleep, and fell down from the third loft, and was taken up dead."

He was killed when he fell asleep and fell out of the third story window in Troas. However, it says in the next verse that Paul embraced the man and his life was restored. (Acts 20:10)
9. What did Paul say was the difference between the Pharisees and the Sadducees?

Answer: Sadducees say that there is no resurrection, neither angels nor spirit, but the Pharisees confess both.

It says in Acts 23:8, "For the Sadducees say that there is no resurrection, neither angel, nor spirit: but the Pharisees confess both."

The Sadducees and Pharisees were Jewish schools of thought, somewhat like political parties today. The Sadducees were associated with the wealthy and the high priests. The Pharisees were authorities on the Old Testament and rejected Jesus because He refused to accept their interpretations of the oral law.
10. Who was married to Felix?

Answer: Drusilla

It says in Acts 24:24, "And after certain days, when Felix came with his wife Drusilla, which was a Jewess, he sent for Paul, and heard him concerning the faith in Christ."

Felix was a Roman governor.
