Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Saltasaurus was a relatively small Argentinian sauropod. In which period does it belong?

Answer: Cretaceous Period

There were no dinosaurs in the Permian. The Triassic didn't host any sauropods, and Saltasaurus is a weird sauropod, due to the fact that it existed one age too late to see his big brothers.
2. In what third of the Mesozoic did Herrerasaurus thrive?

Answer: Triassic Period

Herrerasaurus was one of the first dinosaurs. It used to dwell in the Triassic plains and mountains, and it later bred what would evolve into the great carnivores.
3. The unusual lizard Psittacosaurus rose and fell in what Age?

Answer: Cretaceous Period

Psittacosaurus, the parrot lizard, was the ancestor of the protoceratopsians and ceratopsians, (e.g. Triceratops), which basically ruled the late Cretaceous herbivore world.
4. What period was it when the plated lizard Kentrosaurus softly stomped the Earth?

Answer: Jurassic Period

The Paleocene, 65 to 55 million years ago, came to life after all dinosaurs had gone. Since stegosaurs did not survive to the end of the Cretaceous, Kentrosaurus must have been Jurassic.
5. In which period did the climax of Coelophysis happen?

Answer: Triassic Period

Coelophysis was a famous early Triassic carnivore.
6. When was the time of Minmi?

Answer: Cretaceous Period

No, I didn't make it up, and Minmi is the shortest-named dinosaur of all! This ornithischian inhabited Cretaceous grasslands.
7. Which era housed the grand Giganotosarus?

Answer: Cretaceous Period

Giganotosaurus was the largest known meat-eating dinosaur, even larger than T-Rex or Spinosaurus. It lived in Argentina with Saltasaurus, and could have fed on it.
8. In which age did Pollodon dwell?

Answer: None - it doesn't exist

I created it. Let me just tell you what it looks like in my imagination: its short tail is abruptly dwarfed by its bulking body, typical of the sauropod it is. Its head is promptly on top of its straight neck, and its four legs can hold its seventy-tonne bulk.
9. The great sauropod Cetiosaurus inhabited what part of the Mesozoic?

Answer: Jurassic Period

Cetiosaurus, "Whale Lizard", due to the fact of its bulk, was another late Jurassic titan, and shared the available Jurassic vegetation with other giants such as Brachiosaurus and Camarasaurus.
10. Dimetrodon lived in what section of the Earth's timeline?

Answer: Permian, it wasn't a dinosaur

I'm sorry if you thought this quiz featured 100% original dinosaurs, but I wanted to ring the changes a bit.
