The "Temple of Indian Hockey" is dedicated to Indian hockey legend Major Dhyan
Chand. It was previously known as the "Irwin Amphitheatre" and renamed National Stadium before the 1951 Asian Games.

Julian Hykes scored in the 16th minute for South Africa against Spain. It was rather ironic that the first goal of the World Cup was scored by the lowest ranked team.
3. India started their campaign with a bang in a 4-1 win against a higher ranked team. Who did India beat in this game?

Answer: Pakistan

Coming into the World Cup, India was ranked 12th in the world, whereas Pakistan was 3rd. Shivendra Singh, Sardar Singh, and Prabhjot Singh scored for India, whereas Sohail Abbas scored the lone goal for Pakistan off a penalty corner. After the match, Shivendra Singh (India) was slapped with a two-match suspension, and Irfan (Pakistan) with a one-match suspension.
