Answer: Jim Bunning and Chris Short

Bunning came from Detroit the previous season, and Short was in his 6th season with the Phillies. Gene Mauch pitched both of them down the stretch when he panicked in the great 1964 choke.
2. Who was the Phillies pitcher in the 1973 All Star game?

Answer: Wayne Twitchell

Twitchell was in his 4th season of baseball, and had a record of 13-9 in 1973.
3. Who was the only Phillies pitcher to make the All Star team two years in a row in the 1960s?

Answer: Art Mahaffey

Art made it in 1961 and 1962. No one else made it two years in a row until Steve Carlton in 1979, 80, 81, and 82. Mahaffey only pitched for 7 seasons in the Majors.
