Answer: Sandy Koufax

The others were career Orioles in the 1970s and 1980s. Koufax was a career Dodger from 1955-1966. He is noted mostly for his numerous Cy Young and MVP awards, and throwing for the Triple Crown three times in four seasons.
2. The New York Yankee organization has been a powerhouse for many decades. Which of these never played in the pinstripes?

Answer: Hank Greenberg

Greenberg was a Detroit Tiger from 1930-1946. He spent his final season with the Pirates in 1947. Hank led the league in home runs four times, including blasting out 58 in 1938. He won two MVPs in 1935 and 1940. Although hitting 58 in 1938, he still finished third in the MVP voting behind Jimmie Foxx and Bill Dickey.
3. A Chicago Cub jersey never fit which of the following?

Answer: Steve Carlton

Carlton played 21 of his 24 seasons with the Cardinals and Phillies, then the Giants, White Sox, Indians, and Twins in a three-season stretch. Steve was the first left-handed pitcher to throw 4000 strikeouts. He was a four-time Cy Young winner, and threw a Triple Crown in 1972.

Griffey played 11 seasons in Seattle before becoming a Cincinnati Red in 2000. Rodriguez played with Junior from 1996-1999 before becoming a Texas Ranger, then a Yankee. Moyer also played with both. Jamie was a Mariner from 1996-2006. Stargell played his entire career with the Pirates from 1962-1982. Haller caught for Marichal with the Giants in the 1960s. Blue started his career off in 1969 with the Athletics. After nine seasons, he moved across the bridge to play with the Giants for six seasons. Stieb was another pitching great, and spent 15 of his 16 seasons with the Blue Jays in the 1980s and 1990s. Dave's other sole season was with the White Sox.

Larsen was a rookie with the Browns in 1953. He was traded to the Yankees after the 1954 season in a multi-player trade. In 1956, Larsen threw his World Series perfect game. Gaedel was the dwarf who had a one-game stint as a pinch-hitter in 1951. Sisler set a season hit record in 1920 with 257 hits with the Browns, a record that would stand until Ichiro Suzuki broke it in 2004. Maloney spent 11 of his 12 seasons as a Cincinnati Reds pitcher.

His two outstanding seasons was going 23-7 in 1963, and 20-9 in 1965. Both great seasons were overshadowed by the performance of Dodger Sandy Koufax. Jim retired as an Angel in 1971.

They others were all part of the 1969 Amazin' Mets that won the World Series against the Baltimore Orioles. Tommie spent his entire seven-season career with the Braves and brother Hank from 1962-1971. Hank hit 755 home runs while brother Tommie hit 18.
8. Which of these Hall of Famers never played for any team?

Answer: Joe McCarthy

Mack played for 10 seasons in the National League and one season in the Players League. He retired in 1896, then managed the Philadelphia Athletics for an amazing 50 seasons. McGraw played for 17 seasons in the American Association, National League, and American League.

He spent most of his playing career with the Baltimore Orioles of the National League. He is most noted for managing the New York Giants for over 30 seasons. Alston, who helmed the Dodgers to their first franchise win in 1955, played in only one Major League game in his career.

In 1936, he was a St. Louis Cardinal first baseman. In his only at-bat, he struck out. In two fielding chances, he committed one error. Cardinal manager Frankie Frisch saw enough, and that was it for Alston's playing career. McCarthy never played, but he would manage the Cubs, Yankees, and Red Sox over 24 seasons, including taking the Yankees to eight AL pennants, including seven World Series crowns.

The others were career Bostonians for more than 10 seasons. Stottlemyre played his entire career with the Yankees from 1964-1974. Mel was a 20-game winner twice in 1965 and 1969. He also struck out 12 in the 1964 World Series against the Cardinals in a loss.

Answer: Tony Gwynn

Gwynn was a 20-season career San Diego Padre who retired in 2001. He batted over .350 seven times amongst his eight batting titles, including .394 in 1994. Both Puckett and Oliva were career Twins, and Carew split his career between the Twins and Angels.
