Answer: White Sox

The 1919 Major League season left a bad taste and a scar in baseball history, being the season of the infamous 'Black Sox' scandal. Some White Sox players were involved with fixing the World Series against the Reds. Possibly the greatest player in history, Joe Jackson, could never show that he was as he was banned for life in 1920. The Reds won the series.
2. Ed Kranepool, Tommie Agee, Ron Swoboda, Bud Harrelson, and Tom Seaver all played for which 1969 National League team?

Answer: Mets

This was the year of the 'Amazing Mets', who led by Seaver's 25-7 Cy Young season, defeated the Baltimore Orioles in the World Series to take their first series crown after starting their franchise eight seasons earlier. In five of those eight seasons, the Mets had lost more than 100 games in a season. In 1969, they went 100-62.
3. Which 1980 team filled their uniforms with Pete Rose, Bob Boone, Bake McBride, Greg Luzinski, and Mike Schmidt?

Answer: Philadelphia Phillies

Mike Schmidt was a career Phillie. The franchise won its first World Series in 1980 under the helm of Dallas Green. Schmidt hit 48 home runs in the season, then added two in the World Series for MVP honors.

The others were all National League teams. Cobb's Tigers that were led by the arm of Summers who went 24-12, lost to the Chicago Cubs in the World Series, four games to one. Cobb led the league in batting with a .324 average, then hit .368 in the series. The following season in 1909, Ty Cobb won his only Triple Crown.

The Big Red Machine as the Reds were known, skunked the Yankees in the 1976 World Series. With no pitcher winning more than 15 games, the Reds' bats spoke for themselves. George Foster led the team with 29 home runs. It was the Reds' second consecutive World Series title.
