From the beginning of the NFC West in 1970, the founding franchises included the 49ers, the L.A. Rams, the Falcons, and the Saints. During the 1976 NFL expansion, the Seattle Seahawks joined the NFC West, moving to the AFC West the following year. The four founding franchises remained as the NFC West until 1995, when the Carolina Panthers joined in the expansion. Those five teams represented the NFC West until the 2002 NFL realignment.
5. How many of the Saints' NFC South rivals also host their games in a dome?

Answer: 1

The Falcons play in the Georgia Dome. The Buccaneers play at Raymond James Stadium. The Panthers play at the Bank of America Stadium.

Answer: Eagles

The first-ever regular season game outside the U.S. was in Mexico City in 2005, where the Cardinals defeated the 49ers. Many games have been played on foreign soil, including games in London, Sweden, Ireland, Spain, Germany, Canada, Japan, Australia, and Mexico.
7. On November 8, 1970, Saints' Tom Dempsey kicked a NFL record 63-yard field goal to defeat Detroit 19-17. Which kicker tied this feat on October 25, 1998?

Answer: Denver's Jason Elam

Previous to Dempsey's kick, the record field goal distance was 56 yards held by Colt's kicker Bert Rechichar. Dempsey, as we know, was born without toes on his kicking foot and wore a special shoe that was flat on the front, causing some controversy. In 1977, the NFL added a rule (informally known as the Tom Dempsey rule) which says kicking shoes must have a surface that is of a normal kicking shoe.

In a 2002 preseason game, Denver's Ola Kimrin kicked a 65-yard field goal. Unfortunately, that kick was ineligible because it was a preseason game. Before the regular season started, Kimrin was released and Elam continued as Denver's kicker.

Answer: The Sugar Bowl

The Fiesta Bowl is held in Glendale, AZ. The Cotton Bowl is held in Dallas, TX. The Gator Bowl is held in Jacksonville, Florida. The Sugar Bowl was moved to the Georgia Dome in Atlanta for 2006 due to hurricane Katrina. Other than that year, the annual Sugar Bowl had been played in Tulane Stadium from 1935-1974, and the Superdome in 1975.
10. What are the Saints cheerleaders called?

Answer: The Saintsations

Prior to the Saintsations there were two different sets of dance teams, the Saints Dancers and the Bonnes Aimees. Originally in 1967, the cheerleaders went by the name the Louisiannes, but had to change it to the Saints Dancers because a Louisiana high school had copyrighted the name.

In 1968, they became the Mademoiselles and then changed their name again the following year to the Mam'selles. The Bonnes Aimees lasted from 1975 to 1977. In 1978, they became the Angels but disbanded during the season amongst controversy after one of the cheerleaders posed for Playboy.

In 1987, the moniker Saintsations was selected.
