Answer: William (Bill) O'Reilly

'Tiger' O'Reilly was born in White Cliffs in 1905 and played for the Australian cricket team from 1932 until 1946. He was a left hand spin bowler and had 144 test wickets for an average of 22.6 - a figure that many modern bowlers would envy. Tiger O'Reilly was the Wisden Cricketer of the Year in 1935 and died in 1992. TIGER TIP - tigers can live in humid jungles or the snowy plains.
2. Tiger Woods is probably the most famous "Tiger" in sport. Do you know his real first name?

Answer: Eldrick

Tiger Woods is one of the all time great golfers. Born in 1975, his father nicknamed him Tiger after a South Vietnamese soldier who saved his life. His first professional golf win was the 1996 Las Vegas Invitational. TIGER TIP - a tiger's front feet have five toes and the back feet have four toes. Each is topped with a claw eight to ten centimetres long.

Chanderpaul is from Guyana in the West Indies. He was given the nickname of Tiger after standing up to a much larger team-mate, Curtley Ambrose, in a dressing room argument. TIGER TIP - an adult tiger has thirty large teeth that can be up to 7.5 centimetres long.

Answer: Cincinnati Bengals

Paul Brown moved from the Cleveland Browns to found, coach and be general manager of the Bengals in 1968. He died in 1990 and the Bengals home stadium in now named after him.

Answer: Tiger

Tiger is not only the mascot for the University. Her role is also to promote wildlife conservation in conjunction with the Auburn Raptor Centre. She was rescued from an illegal breeding operation and although her flying days are over she still plays her part for the morale of the teams.

Answer: Tasmania

Tasmania, of course! Named after the now extinct Tasmanian Tiger. Although a state small in population (under 500,000 in the 1996 census) they often have no trouble beating the larger states at cricket.

Born Richard Ihetu in 1929 this Nigerian born born boxer was "Undisputed World Middleweight Champion" 1962 to 1963 and 1965 to 1966 and "Undisputed World Light-heavyweight Champion" 1962 to 1963 and 1965 to 1966. When diagnosed with liver cancer he left the USA and returned to Nigeria where he died in 1971.
9. Which tennis player is sometimes called "Tiger"?

Answer: "Tiger" Tim Henman

Tim Henman is from good tennis stock with his grandfather, Henry Billington, also playing at Wimbledon - reaching the third round in 1948, 1950 and 1951. Perhaps it is genetic? ;-)

It was the last time that the Tigers won the grand-final. It was played against South Sydney and the score was 11 - 2 with a try by Sid Williams securing the match. Man also walked on the moon in 1969 and some have said that that was a more likely event than Balmain winning the premiership. TIGER TIP - there are more Siberian tigers in captivity then there is in the wild.
