Rod Brind'Amour was drafted in the first round, ninth overall by the St. Louis Blues during the 1988 NHL entry draft. He played two more seasons for the Blues before he was traded to the Philadelphia Flyers. He played nine seasons in Philadelphia before being traded to the Carolina Hurricanes.
