1. The Toronto Blue Jays became the first Canadian winners of baseball's World Series in 1992, and repeated the feat the following year. Who hit the three-run home run in the 9th inning of game six of the 1993 series which clinched back-to-back championships?

Answer: Joe Carter

The Blue Jays took a 3-2 lead over the Philadelphia Phillies into game six at the SkyDome. Trailing 5-6 in the bottom of the ninth, Rickey Henderson walked and Paul Molitor hit a single. Joe Carter came to the plate to face Mitch Williams and launched the fifth pitch he faced into the stands to clinch the series.
2. Mike Weir, from Sarnia, became the first male golfer from Canada to win a Major when he lifted which title in 2003?

Answer: The Masters

Mike Weir was born in Sarnia in 1970 and turned professional in 1992. He had five PGA tour titles to his credit when he teed off at Augusta in 2003. A final round of 68 saw him tied with Len Mattiace after 72 holes, which meant a sudden death play-off. Weir bogeyed the first play-off hole, but that was enough to secure the green jacket.
3. The Toronto Raptors created history in 2019 when they became the first Canadian team to win basketball's NBA title. Which Raptor won the finals MVP award after averaging 28.5 points per game against the Golden State Warriors?

Answer: Kawhi Leonard

The Raptors had acquired Leonard in a trade with the San Antonio Spurs prior to the start of the 2018-19 season. They finished the regular season with the second-best record in the Eastern Conference. In the play-offs, they eliminated Orlando, Philadelphia and Milwaukee to reach the finals for the first time. Against the two-time defending champion Warriors, they prevailed by four games to two to bring the title to Canada for the first time.

In 2003, he shocked perennial champion Phil Taylor in the final, then, in 2008, he beat outsider Kirk Shepherd to win title number three.
5. The Ottawa Senators joined the National Hockey League in 1992, and reached their first Stanley Cup Finals in 2007, losing to which team?

Answer: Anaheim Ducks

The original Ottawa Senators were eleven-time Stanley Cup champions, but they folded in 1934. Their successors had yet to achieve anything like that level of success by 2019, but did make it to the finals of the Stanley Cup in 2007. That year, they eliminated Pittsburgh, New Jersey and Buffalo from the play-offs, but came up short in the finals, losing in five games to Anaheim.

7. Which Ontario city is home to a Canadian Football League (CFL) team called the Tiger-Cats?

Answer: Hamilton

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats were founded in 1950 when two other local teams, the Tigers and the Wildcats, merged. This "new" team won their first Grey Cup in 1953, and had a golden era during the 1950s and 60s with a total of five titles. Although that sort of success wasn't sustained in the following decades, they did land Grey Cup number eight in 1999.
8. Bianca Andreescu, from Mississauga, became the first Canadian of either sex to win a Grand Slam tennis tournament with victory at which event in 2019?

A few weeks later, she became the first Canadian to win a Grand Slam event when she lifted the US Open trophy - Serena Williams was her straight sets victim in the final.
9. Which Ontario golf course hosted the men's Canadian Open 30 times between 1977 and 2018?

Answer: Glen Abbey

Glen Abbey Golf Club was opened in 1974 in Oakville, near Toronto. It hosted its first Canadian Open in 1977 when Lee Trevino was the champion. Other winners of the event at Glen Abbey include Greg Norman, Tiger Woods and Dustin Johnson.
